However, in recent hours, Aubrey has suffered the ultimate heartache after the death of her husband Jeff Baena. After Jo Koy’s previous hosting stint was criticized for his opening monologue and quick-fire delivery, Glaser chooses Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, and Tina Fey as her comic muses. Kicking off her roast early at Thursday’s red carpet rollout, she quipped about the Globes ‘ network, saying: “We’re on CBS, which has a show called ‘ 60 Minutes, ′ because that’s the remaining lifespan of many of its viewers”.

Meanwhile, “The Apprentice”, capturing Donald Trump’s earlier years, has earned accolades for Sebastian Stan’s portrayal of Trump and Jeremy Strong as Roy Cohn. On the TV front, “The Bear” is out in front with five nods. Denzel Washington secures his 11th nomination, remaining the most celebrated Black actor in Globes history.

Steve Martin, who is aiming for his first ever Globes win, receives four consecutive best television actor nominations for “Only Murders in the Building” out of nine nominations total. There’s a fresh wave of contenders this year with 26 first-timers like Grande, Dakota Fanning, Glaser, Seth Meyers, Zoe Saldaña, and Pamela Anderson, the latter surprisingly noticed for “The Last Showgirl”. Ted Danson received the Carol Burnett Award in addition to the Golden Globes’ honor. Danson, a three-time Globes winner, has been a mainstay on TV since his breakout role as Boston bartender Sam Malone on NBC’s comedy “Cheers”. His other credits include “The Good Place”, “Mr. Mayor”, “Fargo”, “CSI” and “CSI: Cyber”, “Damages” and “Becker”.

He currently stars in Netflix’s “A Man on the Inside”, which earned him his first nomination since 2008 and 13th overall. In 2019, the Carol Burnett Award honors those who have “made outstanding contributions to television on or off screen.”

Previous honourees comprise Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy, and Ellen DeGeneres, with Burnett receiving the inaugural accolade herself. This Friday night at a special gala dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel will honor Ted Danson and Viola Davis, marking a special occasion for the Golden Globes, a special ceremony for these prestigious awards.

What will the A-listers eat after the Globes?
