Gogglebox’s Josh Tapper marries girlfriend after ditching Channel 4 show for politics job

After dating for almost a decade, Josh Tapper, who became famous on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, has revealed that he has wed his girlfriend Hannah.
Former Gogglebox star Josh Tapper has married his long-term partner, Hannah, after being together for nine years. The 27-year-old reality star was previously seen alongside his family on the popular Channel 4 show but left in 2017 when he landed a position at the Cabinet Office. The announcement of Josh’s wedding was shared by his sister, Amy, who posted a collection of photos and videos from the joyous family celebration.
Amy wrote, “The New Mr and Mrs Tapper! ” to express her joy. There are no words that can adequately describe this incredible day.
She continued, “I’d like to welcome you to the family, but you’ve been a part of it for nine years. This just means officially forever.” More than one word can describe both of you, @joshtapper.
Before performing the traditional Jewish dance, the horah, Josh and his wife, Hannah, pose with his parents, Jonathan and Nikki. Josh was one of the show’s original stars when it first debuted in 2013; however, Josh made the decision to leave in 2017 after earning a Civil Service apprenticeship.
At the time, a source told The Mirror: “Channel 4 will, of course, keep the door open for him but it’s a really exciting opportunity for him. It’s a much-coveted job. Josh has already started having meetings within No.10.”
In 2022, Josh made a move into politics, announcing he was running to become a Labour MP. He was selected as the candidate for Hertsmere and shared his excitement on X, formerly Twitter: “I’m thrilled and honoured to have been selected as Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Hertsmere.
I won’t let you down, thank you, local members. The Deputy Prime Minister’s election campaign is now in full swing!
Last year, Josh was chosen as the Labour candidate in a bid to unseat Oliver Dowden from Parliament. He expressed feeling “thrilled and honoured” to be selected. Despite Dowden holding the seat since 2019, Josh was defeated by 7,992 votes.
Josh, who joined the Labour Party when Sir Keir Starmer became leader, first appeared on the reality TV show when he was 15. In 2022 he told Jewish News it “suddenly blew up out of nowhere”. He went on: “I spent the next five years living that life while also trying to live a normal life. But I was the guy who was on TV. My days were long as we were filming the scenes in addition to school.”
He claimed that the Tories had “driven our country into the ground” when he previously worked at a food bank. Mr. Tapper will have to work overtime to overturn a sizable majority. Mr. Dowden won the seat in 2019 with a 16 951 majority, a decrease from his previous record of over 21 000.
