Charlotte Hawkins, a presenter of Good Morning Britain, has a rather unique challenge in store for her most recent performance. In a recent conversation, she joked with a smile as she said, “It’s the one show I do where I’m happy if my listeners are snoozing.” “I’d be very upset if people told me Good Morning Britain was sending them to sleep,” the spokesperson said. “The goal is to make sure they’re happy and relaxed. The 49 year old presenter, speaking to OK!, clarified that the sleepy audience she aims to please are actually animals.

She’s set to co-host Classic FM’s Pet Classics shows on November 2 and November 5 from 5pm to 9pm, alongside radio DJ Dan Walker. In the hushed firework season, the duo will be playing soothing classical music. Because this time of year can be very stressful for animals, I’m hosting this year’s program because it’s so special. People frequently message us to tell us how their pets have benefited from the music, which is always appreciated. And it’s not just dogs, like you might think – classical music can help horses, cows, donkeys, sheep, parrots, rabbits… the list goes on”, said Charlotte, who is collaborating with the RSPCA for the initiative.

This Bonfire Night, Charlotte and Dan are truly helping animals.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star and current Royal presenter has revealed that she enjoys classical music and its soothing effects on animals. There are reports that classical music has a significant calming effect on animals, she explained. “I’m obviously a big fan of classical music anyway.

Although she is not currently a dog owner, Charlotte is fond of her terrier cross, saying, “We sadly lost our terrier cross Bailey last year… but we’re hoping to rescue another soon. With Bonfire Night approaching, Charlotte shared her mixed feelings about fireworks: “Fireworks can bring a lot of joy to people, especially organised displays which see a community come together”, she acknowledged, but also recognized the distress they cause to pets, suggesting, “But they can also be really scary for animals. I believe that without loud booms or bangs, we should be able to see beautiful fireworks these days thanks to modern technology.

Her passion is evident, and it’s clear she loves her job. Having started as a newsreader for ITN in 1999, Charlotte has become one of the UK’s most familiar Royal presenters, covering major events like the Olympics and the Oscars, and interviewing celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and David Beckham.

Charlotte is a big animal lover.

“It’s massively important]finding a job you love] and I’m lucky in that respect. I adore that I get to contribute to GMB and work on other causes I’m passionate about. I’m starting a podcast with Dogs Trust which gives tips to those who have dogs with behavioural issues, I’m a patron for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and I’ve worked with André Rieu. It’s crucial for me to feel as though I’m contributing to society at the same time that I’m working.

She hopes to impart her unwavering resolve and drive to her nine-year-old daughter Ella Rose, who she shares with Mark Herbert, her husband of 16 years. Ella Rose should do the same. I have a deep sympathy for some people who detest their jobs when I look at them. We deserve to be content because our lives are so valuable. Honestly, even if I won the lottery, I’d still do what I do – don’t tell my boss that though”, she laughs. Ella Rose “is truly hoping that she will discover that which she will love the most,” she said.

This Christmas, Charlotte will make sure to support Kate Garraway.

Having a great relationship with her colleagues, Charlotte acknowledges, is a key ingredient in that all important world of work. And thankfully for the radio presenter, her GMB co-stars are always there for one another. The sad thing is that we all work at different times, so it’s unusual to be all in one room together at events, Charlotte said. Beautifully held together, we all attended the Pride of Britain Awards. It gave us a chance to catch up informally. The combination of people in the show is what I really enjoy, because everyone has a unique perspective and brings something new. I have so much respect for my colleagues, I genuinely love working with them”.

With such a hectic schedule, it’s no surprise that GMB hosts find it hard to get together. Kate Garraway’s co-host, Derek Draper, tragically passed away in January after a three-year battle with Covid-19, Charlotte reassures her that they will all be there for her and that Kate is “surrounded by love.” She had previously stated OK! that they “we’re all there supporting her” despite Kate’s “being through a really tough time”
