Due to a stress fracture in her back, England all-rounder Danielle Gibson will miss the start of the domestic season.

The 23-year-old was uneasy as England A’s upcoming multi-format series against Australia A was taking place in Sydney.

Gibson will now fly back to the UK to begin her recovery after a scan has determined the extent of the injury.

Before the women’s county cricket relaunch, Gibson joined Somerset, but she won’t play when the match starts in April because of the setback.

She was a part of England’s senior team’s 22 T20 appearances earlier this year and was not a member of their squad for the Ashes.
