Gaza transformed into rubble-strewn wasteland after Israeli bombardment

Gaza’s neighborhoods have been transformed into rubble-strewn wastelands by Israeli bombardment and ground operations, with rubble-strewn buildings and debris mounds stretching out in all directions.
Major roads have been cleared. The infrastructure for critical water and electricity is in disrepair. Most hospitals no longer function.
If the blockade is still in place, it might take more than 350 years to rebuild, according to the UN.
When the fighting ends and inspectors have full access to the area, the damage’s full extent will only be known.
In a move that started in early October, Israeli forces had sealed off and largely depopulated the northern region of Gaza, which had been the most severely damaged area.
Using satellite data, the United Nations estimated last month that 69 percent of the structures in Gaza have been damaged or destroyed, including at least 245, 000 homes.
The first four months of the war cost the World Bank an estimated $ 18.50 billion in damage, nearly twice the West Bank’s and Gaza’s combined economic output in 2022.
Before anything can be rebuilt, the rubble must be removed – a staggering task in itself.
