Gavin & Stacey star issues nine-word statement on show’s return

Following the film’s Christmas finale last year, when he reprised his role as Mick Shipman in the recognizable sitcom, Larry Lamb has given an update on whether Gavin &, Stacey will ever make a comeback.
Larry Lamb has revealed whether Gavin & Stacey could return for more episodes after it’s epic Christmas finale last year, and it’s bad news for fans of the iconic sitcom. The actor, who played Mick Shipman on the show, told Mirror that while he initially thought there may be room for more, he has realised it really is the end now.
He continued, “It’s funny because I thought we did a special five years ago and now we’re doing it once more,” he said to the Mirror. So perhaps that’s what will happen again in five years. But after the filming was over, I eventually realized it was the best course of action.
It was a glorious celebration of everything that transpired throughout it, Larry continued. There was a lot of emotion, which was sad because you thought, “Maybe this will be our last time getting together,” but it was also joyful.
Although the series may be over, Larry and his co-stars, including James Corden, have always shared memories. Larry acknowledged that the pair and the rest of the cast are now “family,” and that James has always been very, very supportive of me and everyone else, in fact.
” It’s lovely. We’re all a part of a family, to be honest. Although we may not have been able to communicate for 20 years straight, James and Gavin and Stacey co-creator Ruth Jones have still been a part of that family. It is incredible.
After wrapping up filming on the BBC show, Larry has been busy on other projects and is currently working with Marie Curie on their Great Daffodil Appeal campaign. Admitting it’s a cause close to his heart, Larry lost his brother, Wesley back in 2019 to cancer, and had the support of Marie Curie at the time of his passing.
In his final days, my late brother was cared for by them. So I really owe them one, Larry said as he described his relationship with his sibling. Over time, we both became distant and didn’t really connect with one another. We had our first long-term relationship at that time.
When we were boys, we were very close, but time, geography, and life all combined to cause us to drift apart. I had a small bed in the corner of his room during that final week. We shared laughter in the same bedroom for the first time in a very long time. Since we were 10 or 11, we hadn’t done that.
He was unable to speak by that time, but speaking up quickly was not a problem. We were taking notes and laughing as he slowly faded. We finally faced the reality of what was happening, and he explained that he had been supporting him by doing it very bravely.
Larry said he doesn’t live with regret over the time he and his brother spent together while they were separated, despite his sadness. He stated, “Regrets have no place in me,” really. You may be aware of how much time you’ve wasted, but putting yourself down is not. He was just as interested in me as I was.
“We just drifted apart, you know. I was living in the south and travelling all over the world, and he was living in the Northeast, so, what are you gonna do?”
