Gary Barlow name drops King Charles as he boasts about very expensive bottle of wine

Gary Barlow bragged about receiving the finest bottle of wine he has ever had, which was a gift from King Charles III.

The 53-year-old Take That star was a key figure in the planning of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee concert in June 2012, and he is a member of the Royal Family. Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Sir Tom Jones, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney took to the stage during the famous celebration, which attracted a large contingent of top talent singers.

The now King gave Gary a gift following the concert, which both delighted the royals and the millions of viewers from all over the world. Gary has now revealed the significance of the historic moment and described the present.

Forever Love singer Jessie Ware stated on her Table Manners podcast that “most of my cellar is wine that people have purchased for me.” I’ve reached the point where I can mention the source. I believe a Pauillac is the wine’s priciest bottle I can recall. And I do believe, I’m gonna name drop, I’m afraid. I received it from the King. Around the Diamond Jubilee”.

Gary continued: “I organised the concert for that. He, yes, I did receive it a little later via telegram, and no, I haven’t touched that. Actually, it’s upstairs in the house, not even in the cellar.

Gary went on to reflect on his early dating days with his wife Dawn Andrews – who he has been married to since the year 2000 and shares son Daniel, 24, and daughters Emily, 22 and Daisy, 15, with her. He recalled: “We were in Manchester, and we’d been to a club, and we’re all piled in this van on the way home. We were in the very back of this van, and we were sitting right next to each other, had my arm around her and I just thought, this is it kids, I’m going in”.

He also stated that he and Dawn had been dating before their romance turned romantic. Asked how they met, he explained: “Oh, she was a dancer. There are two dancers on that video, which I first met in 1988 when I was hired to make this terrible video for Virgin at the time. She was one of them. And so we only met for the day when we met again.

He added: “Then bumped into her over the years, at Top of the Pops and the Royal Variety performances and things, and then we did a tour in like 95 where we had like 20 dancers”.
