Gangs of London series three cast – where you have seen the stars before

The cast of Gangs of London, based on the popular video game Gangs of London, has been a smash hit for Sky Atlantic, and tonight we get to see it.
Crime thriller series Gangs of London is one of Sky Atlantic’s biggest hits, and it returns for a third season tonight. The action picks up after the gruesome finale of the previous season which featured Elliot (Sope Dirisu) sending the severed arm of Billy Wallace (Brian Vernel) to his brother Sean (Joe Cole) and mother Marian (Michelle Fairley).
Before the end credits, there were a throat-slashing, a poisoned burger, and a screwdriver stabbing. That was only the beginning of the gore. Some of the characters sadly perished and are returning for the upcoming series. Find out who is returning and where you’ve previously seen the actors.
Joe Cole
Joe Cole stars as Sean Wallace, who has taken control of his father’s criminal empire with his mother Marian. At the end of the second season, Sean was in jail, after being arrested for the death of Koba.
Fans will recognise 36 year old Londoner Joe as John Shelby in Peaky Blinders, and Harry Palmer in the 2022 TV remake of The Ipcress File. He was nominated for a BAFTA for his performance in the Black Mirror episode Hang the DJ, and scored a ratings success at the end of last year in the BBC series Nightsleeper, as the ex-police officer trapped aboard a train speeding from Glasgow to London.
Sope Dirisu
Elliot, played by Sope Dirisu, is the undercover policeman who seized control of the Wallace organization by the end of the season. The actor expressed his delight at returning for a third time in the phrase “it’s wicked to be back for another season.” It is truly unique. Over the past five or so years, the viewers have been truly amazing. The streets and the engagement online. You all who come over my back will say, “Ah, I love Gangs of London!” I’m always shocked, but I appreciate you.
Sope is best known for his role as Sean Donovan in Slow Horses, alongside Gary Oldman, and he also appeared as Fred in the sci-fi drama series Humans, and most recently in the Apple TV+ movie The Gorge, alongside Anya Taylor Joy and Miles Teller.
Lucian Msamati
The Dumani family’s head of town, Ed Dumani, is getting ready to write a play to rule the city, plays Lucian as Ed.
The 49-year-old actor has a long list of screen and film credits. In August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, he also became known for playing Toledo on stage as Iago in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2015 production of the play.
On screen, he has appeared in episodes of Luther, Black Mirror, Doctor Who and Death in Paradise, and played pirate Salladhor Saan in Game of Thrones. He recently appeared in the Oscar winning movie Conclave as Cardinal Adeyemi alongside Ralph Fiennes and Stanley Tucci.
Michelle Fairley
In Gangs of London, Michelle portrays Sean’s mother, Marian, the matriarch of the Wallace family.
She is also well known for playing another difficult matriarch, Catelyn Stark, in Game of Thrones as Robb, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon’s mothers, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Rickon’s mothers, Sansa, Arya, Bran, and Bran. Fans will recall that she and her son Robb’s wedding came to a tragic end in the third season of the fantasy series.
The Northern Irish actress is also known for her role as Mrs Granger in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1, and as Princess Augusta in Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
Brian Vernel
Billy Wallace, played by Brian in Brian’s character Billy Wallace, lost his arm last season as a result of Elliot’s axe-wielding antics, and the actor has since had to work on a prosthetic arm this year. We had to bear in mind the physical demands of parking a car, walking around, carrying a gun, and everything else that might have initially caused a few hiccups. So I left and spoke with a few people who had aided me. A movement coach was also useful.
Scottish actor Brian is best known for his role as Bala-Tik in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and he has also appeared in historical drama The Last Kingdom, and as Curly in Slow Horses.
Pippa Bennett-Warner
Pippa portrays Ed’s daughter Shannon Dumani, who finally found her place at the table at the conclusion of the season. This season’s cast, according to Pippa, is a new, improved version of Shannon, with “season two” intensity. A 2.0 version of her, who has been neglected ever since, has finally had the opportunity to reveal her true self.
Pippa started acting when she was 11 years old when she played Young Nala in a stage production of The Lion King in London. She has co-starred in the period drama Harlots and last year’s Moonflower Murders, and has also appeared on screen in Doctor Who, Vera, Death in Paradise, and Silent Witness episodes.
T’Nia Miller
T’Nia is joining the cast of Gangs of London for the third season, playing Simone Thearle, the Mayor of London. She said about her character: she comes along and threatens the status quo of the gangs. So for the first time, we’re seeing the other side of this world. We’re seeing the political side and we’re seeing a true opposition to what’s going on, on the streets. She’s a real threat to the gangs.”
Fans will recognise the London actress for her roles in two Mike Flanagan horror series, The Haunting of Bly Manor and The Fall of the House of Usher. She also had a leading role in the Russell T Davies series Years And Years, alongside Russell Tovey and Emma Thompson, and appeared in the Netflix series Sex Education.
Richard Dormer
In addition to Richard, Cornelius Quinn, who is enlisted by Billy to help release his brother Sean from prison, makes a comedic appearance in this series. He referred to filming as a “baptismal of fire.”
I initially felt like I was being thrown right into the fairground while we were battling. I had a terrible cold that stayed with me throughout the shoot. He claimed that the three-night shoot was at an ungodly hour in the morning, with freezing cold and pouring rain.
Richard, who hails from Portadown in Northern Ireland, is best known for his roles in Fortitude, The Day of the Jackal, The Day of the Jackal, and the crime drama Rellik. He also has a reputation for playing the role of Lord Beric Dondarrion, the Lightning Lord, in Game of Thrones.
The third season of Gangs of London is currently available on Sky Atlantic.
