FRSC Convicts 20 Traffic Offenders In Ogun

The Ogun state Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps says it has convicted about 20 motorists for various Traffic violations through the mobile court presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T Odusanya

According to a press statement issued by the Superintendent Route Commander, Ogun FRSC Command, Odunsin Afolabi, the proceedings saw 20 offenders arraigned and subsequently convicted, with no discharges recorded.

While a total of 40 offences were documented, 39 attracted various fines and none was sentenced to imprisonment

“The enforcement operation focused on critical safety violations, including: Speed Limit Device violations and Overloading,” he said.

“Seatbelt and Driver’s Licence violations. Tyre, Vehicle Licence, and Number Plate violations. General vehicle maintenance and related traffic infractions were also considered.”

On his part the Ogun Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, emphasised that the exercise is a core component of the Command’s sustained enforcement strategy

He also noted that such mobile courts enhance operational visibility and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations to reduce road traffic crashes across the state’s operational corridors.

Fasakin commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of the proceedings, noting that the exercise was supported by adequate security from armed personnel.

He urged motorists to prioritize safe driving practices and ensure proper vehicle documentation to prevent avoidable injuries and fatalities.
