A unified world champion from Britain fighting off another unbeaten fighter on Saturday is a terribly disappointing way to not be aware of the influencer boxing Misfits show from last weekend.

More people, including the media, should be talking about Ellie Scotney.

A true superstar, the IBF, WBO, and Ring magazine super-bantamweight world champion is a phenomenal yet underappreciated fighter.

On the day of Dalton Smith’s light-welterweight title fight against Walid Ouizz in Nottingham, she takes on Mea Motu.

Although I am aware that boxing is a competitive sport, Ellie should have been given the main event slot.

Ellie is such a stunning fighter to watch, even for those who are unaware of her full potential.

She has worked incredibly hard throughout her career, never chose the easy path, and has some outstanding pasts.

She can box rings around you for rounds and rounds because she is so fluid and in motion.

Sure, there are no stoppage wins on her record, but Ellie is never going to be a one-punch knockout artist. That’s just not her style.

Motu, a native of New Zealand, will look to do a number on the rising star.

Ellie is an avid boxer, keeping up with all the rehashed matches.

She is a huge Roberto Duran and Julio Cesar Chavez fan. We frequently spend hours talking boxing and being nerdy on the phone.

You could see how excited she was on social media after her first encounter with Duran last year.

She managed to hold her nerve and even ask him for a photo, which is one of her greatest accomplishments.

The task in hand right now, though, is to overcome a tough challenge in Nottingham.

This is Motu’s chance to change her life, and she will try to ride the wave that is currently being held by Australian cruiserweight king Jai Opetaia or Joseph Parker, who will face Daniel Dubois for the title next month.

Ellie, however, would never overlook anyone because she is aware of what it takes to advance in her career.
