Andy Farrell, the coach of the British and Irish Lions, claims watching the Six Nations this year will be “bit different” than when they will lead the Ireland team.

The 49-year-old Englishman has won two Six Nations titles for Ireland while stepping aside to lead the Lions on their summer tour of Australia.

“Watching the Six Nations from the sidelines will be a little different for me,” Farrell told RTE.

“Not just that,]there’s] the big games in Europe, the URC and Premiership etc. Good luck to everyone”

As Ireland bid for their third consecutive Six Nations victory, interim head coach Simon Easterby replaces Farrell.

After serving as his assistant for the 2013 and 2017 series, Farrell succeeds Warren Gatland as the Lions’ head coach.

He will set up the Lions for 10 games, including a three-test series against Australia in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, as well as an opening Test against Argentina in Dublin.

Farrell continued, “The Lions’ team is our primary concern.”

Everyone always inquires about the difficult decisions to be made, but it’s my responsibility to make the right decision for the team.
