EPL: Crystal Palace Hold Manchester City In Four-Goal Thriller

Due to high winds, which caused the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool to be postponed, Manchester City were unable to win the eighth of their nine games against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
City had a chance to finish second in the Premier League, but they were unable to capitalize on their midweek victory over Nottingham Forest, which had given the English champions the opportunity to put a stop to the rot.
When Daniel Munoz raced on to Will Hughes’ pass to fire Palace in front after four minutes, Pep Guardiola’s men had the worst start of their career at Selhurst Park.
In the quest for the Golden Boot, Erling Haaland scored 13 Premier League goals in a towering header from Matheus Nunes’ cross to bring City level again.
The visitors made a strong start to the second half when Maxence Lacroix headed home Hughes’ corner.
Rico Lewis found the top corner again for City, but six minutes later he was sent off.
City are now eight points clear of Liverpool as the leaders, but more points down will hurt their chances of winning five titles in a row.
After Storm Darragh blasted western England with high winds and heavy rain, the final league game between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park will need to be rescheduled.
Due to safety concerns, it was decided to postpone the lunchtime kick-off shortly after 0800GMT local time.
“Whilst we appreciate this will be deeply disappointing for supporters, the safety of fans, staff and players is of paramount importance”, Everton said in a statement.
