‘End Insecurity, Rescue Those In Kidnappers’ Captivity’, Obi Tells FG

Peter Obi, a politician and former governor of Anambra State, has demanded that the federal government work to address the country’s growing insecurity.

Obi also made a plea for those who were held by kidnappers to be saved.

He made an appeal to his designated X as he raised the alarm over the country’s growing insecurity.

He remarked, “The country’s current high rate of crimes, especially kidnappings, is worrying and making people very afraid in the country.”

No one is currently spared from the perilous wind of numerous kidnappings and murders that are sweeping through the country right now.

“Every Nigerian feels the heat of insecurity, which has continued to affect every aspect of our nation, from the agricultural sector, where farmers are often chased out of their farmlands, to the health and educational sectors, where critical workers are often kidnapped or killed.

” This is exemplified by the constant kidnapping and, sometimes, killing of our farmers, teachers and lecturers in different schools and universities. Just recently, the Manager of College of Nursing Sciences, Ihiala, was killed.

“Yesterday, 2 Reverend Sisters, one a Principal and other a teacher who works in our different schools in Anambra state were again kidnapped.

Through their sacrifices in farms, schools, and other rural areas, these people have made a significant contribution to our nation’s development.

“Nothing justifies these kidnaps, and killings, as well as those of many Nigerians who suffer the same fate daily. The leaders, the leaders, need to pay close attention to this troubling situation.

How many cases of kidnapping and killings go unreported, one might wonder if the number is this high? I once more urge the government to make the most of its security arsenal to put an end to this menace and ensure the safe rescue of captives.
