Emily Atack admits she had ‘hadn’t heard’ about Inbetweeners reunion talks
Despite recent reports of a pending movie, Emily Atack was snubbed from the Inbetweeners’ reunion discussions.
Charlotte Hinchcliffe was a role Charlotte Hinchcliffe played between 2008 and 2010 on the popular TV show. However, she was unreported when the main characters appeared in both the first and second movies in 2011. The lead characters, which are Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, have been forced to address the rumors, which have been circulating for a while.
However, it appears that no one has emailed Emily the memo. Will Manning, the host of the Capital Breakfast, emailed Emily to ask if she would consider reprising her role in the event of a reunion. And it was at this point she said: “Oh I haven’t heard about this, I don’t know. We’d all be quite a lot older now”.
She quickly revealed a hilarious behind-the-scenes secret, explaining how the boys hid their much older than the characters they were playing. She continued: “What was quite funny was when we filmed the series I was only 17, I’d just left school, but the boys were well into… I think they were in their 20’s, early thirties”. Will then jumped in and said: “Isn’t that mad how they pulled that off”.
Emily continued, “They were using the makeup trucks to shave their chests every morning. And shaving their faces every day. With he razors, every morning, lots of shaving rashes on that job”. However, while fans would be over-excited at the prospect of another instalment of the film, Simon Bird, who played Will McKenzie, has dismissed the rumours.
He told the Mail: “I’m afraid to be the one pouring cold water on this but it’s not happening. There are no likely times for a reunion, I can assure you of that. However, as Simon said, “it is up to the writers,” things may change in the future. Simon went on to say: “We’d be happy to but it’s not up to us, it’s up to the writers, Iain and Damon, and I know they’re both very busy these days. I’m afraid that it’s not more likely than it was ten years ago.
After her ex-boyfriend James Buckley allegedly allegedly kicked her out of the 2019 10th anniversary reunion, Emily may have missed out on being part of the early discussions about a third movie. A source at the time told The Sun that Emily received a call from producers 24 hours in advance of her scheduled set time. They were deeply embarrassed and apologetic. They had to explain that James had requested that she be removed from the show.
When they were both single, the pair kissed several times, but James allegedly didn’t want it to become a topic of conversation on set or with his wife. The source continued, “Emily never had an issue with the kissing, and it meant nothing to her.” She was very taken aback to be told she wasn’t needed, and genuinely gutted. She anticipated a second chance with the guys and assumed everything was alright.
Speaking about her being dropped from the anniversary reunion, she told Capital FM in 2018: “Unfortunately, I don’t really know what happened there. I was scheduled to do it, and I was eager to do it, but I was later informed that I was no longer required.
She continued, “It’s alright, these things do happen, and I don’t know whether it was due to production timings or something else. I think they just decided to go a different way.” I believe that these things actually occur, and they’re simply going in a different direction. I wish them the best of luck and know that the fans won’t be let down.
