Following the release of a new album, Elton John left his fans saying the same thing.
Sir Elton, 77, left the Rock of the Westies tour last year following a famous headliner performance at Glastonbury and a return to Dodger Stadium. Elton hasn’t stopped playing live shows and is working on a new album in the studio despite the announcement that he won’t be touring.
‘ Who Believes in Angels? ‘ will mark Sir Elton’s first studio album release since 2021’s Lockdown Sessions. On Reddit, fans of the I’m Still Standing and Alright for Fighting singers expressed their excitement over the Brandi Carlile-starring album.
A photo of an Elton letter to a fan accompanying the album’s confirmation, according to a fan. He writes: “In 20 days, we wrote 14 songs, and 10 are coming out on the record. For me, it’s immaculate, it’s incredible, considering the start”. The pop legend goes on to say that the album was “one of the most challenging creative processes I’ve ever gone through.”
He wrote: “I wanted to play better, sing better, write better, and challenge myself creatively. It was one of the most difficult creative processes I’ve ever been through, but couldn’t be prouder of the outcome”.
Fans were left saying the same thing about the album. After years of being teased, they were skeptical that it would occur, but the majority of people are happy with confirmation.
One user wrote, “I recall early rumors about this album and claims that it wasn’t true. This album, according to what they claimed was made in 2023 and what they revealed at the Gershwin ceremony, is. The one we’ve been waiting for”? Another fan replied: “I think this is the one Elton referenced at the Grammys in 2023, the one he said would ‘ surprise the s*** out of everyone'”.
A third added: “I hope I’m not the only one hyped for this. (Yes, we all want another solo album but this should be good.)” Some are remaining “cautiously optimistic” ahead of the album’s release.
One user wrote: “I’m cautiously optimistic because of Elton and Brandi’s obvious enthusiasm, but I’d love to hear more from Bernie on this. In recent years, he has appeared to be a much better litmus test for their creative output. When “The Diving Board” came out, Bernie was clearly proud of that accomplishment and was obviously proud of it (I recall). Subsequently, the release of ‘ Wonderful Crazy Night ‘ had Bernie a bit more reticent to offer praise. The project seemed inauthentic (which I believe it was) because Elton asked Bernie for “happy” lyrics.
Some, however, were a little underwhelmed when the collaboration album was announced, so they are awaiting new solo material. They wrote: “I’m really hoping this isn’t the album that he’s been teasing. I mean, any new song is fantastic and all, but I’d prefer a solo album.
