Sophia Grace Brownlee has revealed the adorable name of her second baby, 14 years after shooting to fame on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The plucky performer, now 21, became an overnight success on the US programme back in 2011, belting out Nicki Minaj’s Superbass with impressive skill alongside her cheerleader cousin, Rosie McClelland.
It’s hard to believe that Sophia is now a parent herself, with a son and daughter to look after. Updating fans on her latest arrival she shared a sweet snap of herself, cuddling a newborn, who was sporting a pink woollen twin-set, with the caption: “Athena Rose” [heart emoji].
Sophia Grace looks delighted with life in the photo in which big balloons spell out her daughter’s name. Cradling the tot, she appears effortlessly glamorous, wearing a cream, fluffy, off-the-shoulder dress, with her long sleek hair and make-up on point.
The mum-of-two, who also has son, River, two, told her followers about Athena’s arrival earlier this month. Taking to Instagram, sharing a snap of the tot, she wrote: “29 | 12 | 24”, revealing that her daughter had been born in December. In the comments section, Sophia Grace’s cousin, Rosie, replied, “So proud of you, love you both so much. “
Sophia Grace announced she was pregnant again in a video published on her YouTube channel. “So as you can see by the title of this video, I am expecting baby number two,” she said in reference to the video’s title, “I’M PREGNANT BABY NUMBER 2. ”
“I am so excited to be doing this video, I’ve been hiding this for a super long time,” she continued. “I have actually seen some of you guys guessed it in the comments and I really wanted to be like, ‘Yes, I am. ’ “
The star was only nine when she and her then five-year-old cousin, Rosie, caught the attention of Ellen DeGeneres after a video of them dancing to Nikki Minaj’s Super Bass went viral. The pair were then invited to perform the song on Ellen’s eponymous show.
Following the TV appearance, the cousins became overnight sensations and were repeatedly invited back on Ellen’s show after Sophia Grace brought the house down with her impressive rap skills.
Squealing with delight when Nicki eventually joined the girls in the studio months later, Sophia Grace and Rosie – who were both clad in adorable pink tutus – melted the audience’s hearts with their double act with the Young Money star, leading Ellen to tell the girls they were her “favourite guests ever”.
