Ekin-Su branded ‘phoney’ as plans to ‘distance herself from Love Island’ resurface
Ekin-Su Culculoglu has been slammed by Love Island viewers.
Fans are already furious that a former Islander might join the new Love Island All Stars season that will debut on Monday. Fans aren’t thrilled with Ekin-Su’s potential return after her criticism of the dating series when she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in 2024, but she is rumored to be hiding out in South Africa and ready to appear as a bombshell at the All Star villa.
One fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that “Not Ekin-Su kicking off that people keep mentioning she was on Love Island only for her to go back to Love Island,” while another commented, “Not Ekin going back on after the hullabaloo she made of people mentioning the show while on CBB.” A third said: “The same Ekin-Su who didn’t want to be defined by her time on Love Island is… going back into the villa? Oop”.
Another Love Island fan expressed concern for Ekin Su, saying, “I’m really worried.” I felt like she had jumped from one show to another without taking a break while watching her on CBB. Additionally, she appeared to want to cut herself off from Love Island on CBB, and she became enraged whenever it was mentioned. “So why do this?” she asked.
Ekin-Su, 30, and her then-beau Davide Sanclimenti won the 2022 series, according to a source who spoke to The Sun. According to the source, “It took a lot of back and forth to persuade her to go back into the villa, especially after Ekin had such a difficult time on Celebrity Big Brother.” She wants to redeem herself and show the world why she is loved by the audience through her recent stint on Love Island All Stars. Whatever happens, ITV bosses have to decide whether she’ll be a day one star or a bombshell. However, whatever happens, she’s telly gold and will make a fantastic addition to the lineup.
Following her time on Love Island, Ekin-Su has also appeared on Dancing on Ice and The Traitors US in addition to Celebrity Big Brother. She claimed in October of last year that she had made mistakes and was “more picky now” when it came to picking which shows to watch.
“I wouldn’t just do anything. I’ve done a lot in the past but I wouldn’t just jump onto the next thing because of the paycheck, I think I’ve learned my lesson”, she said. However, she also said she didn’t regret anything she had done in the past. “I don’t regret anything. I’m at a loss for words right now. I’m great. At the time, you blame yourself for things not going right, and you take accountability. I’ve used that word a lot: accountability, but now I’m kind of at the stage where I’m past everything. Being in the public eye is just part of it.
