EFCC Sacks 27 Officers For Fraud, Misconduct

27 of its employees have been fired, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The officers were dismissed for a number of offenses that EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale said lacked in a statement on Monday that lacked proper background.

The commission, however, did not disclose the identity of the fired officers.

He claimed that the EFCC’s Staff Disciplinary Committee’s recommendation and Ola Olukoyede, the agency’s head, approved their dismissal.

“Every single allegation against any member of the Commission’s staff would always be investigated, including a $400, 000 claim against a Sectional Head by a supposed member of the EFCC against a Sectional Head.”

The statement partially read, “The Commission’s core values are sacrosanct and would always be held in optimal regard,” reads the statement.

The Commission also issued an alert to the dreadful practices of phony officials and blackmailers who extort money from well-known suspects.

” Two members of an alleged syndicate, Ojobo Joshua and Aliyu Hashim were recently arraigned before Justice Jude Onwuebuzie of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, Abuja for allegedly contacting a former Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Mr. Mohammed Bello-Kaka and demanding $1million from him for “Olukoyede to give him soft landing” on a non-existing investigation. These characters are still out hunting down victims.
