EastEnders’ Jamie Borthwick reveals secret Strictly struggle after ‘very difficult week’

Actor Jamie Borthwick revealed his inner conflict with Strictly Come Dancing.

The EastEnders actor, who collaborated with professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas, participated in the most recent episode of the BBC dance competition. With his dancing prowess, Jamie quickly won over a lion of new fans thanks to their close relationship on the show. He left the Strictly Christmas special in tenth place despite having only the passing advantage of winning it in 2023 with Nancy Xu.

Due to the proximity of the two studios, Jamie continued to work as Jay Brown EastEnders while filming Strictly. However, it did eventually become difficult to balance two jobs. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Jamie admitted: “We had moments when it was easier than others. Our final week after the show ended was a very challenging one.

” If we had have got through that week, it would have been next to impossible. We persevered through it and worked extremely hard together. Michelle and their co-stars are scheduled to perform together on the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour. He has chosen to stop filming this time so that he can concentrate on the shows.

Since Jamie and Michelle teamed up on Strictly, they have been fighting romance rumors. The actor revealed that they haven’t even had the opportunity to miss one another and have maintained a very close relationship since leaving the competition. He said:” We haven’t left each others side since we got out. I haven’t missed her because we have spoke everyday.

“Michelle is an amazing dancer, she is an amazing teacher. We are extremely fortunate to have her. Whoever is her partner next year, they don’t know it yet, but I don’t like them whoever they are”. However, Jamie has previously compared their relationship to being like siblings.

The idea of that entire Strictly curse, Jamie previously stated to The Mirror, is undoubtedly out of the question because it would be strange to do it with my sister. Before Strictly, Michelle and I first connected, and we immediately made up. But she is like a sister, an aunt, a mum, a best friend. She’s looking after me, she’s mothering me”.

Michelle, a professional dancer, has a secret idol in Simone Arena, her partner. He explained: “Her boyfriend doesn’t know it yet because we’ve never met, but he’s my rock already. I’ve been looking him up, watching him dance on his shows and I’m like, ‘ Mate, you’re my icon’. He’s an absolutely fantastic dancer”. Before joining Strictly, Jamie quipped “no-one loves him” when asked if he had imposed a sex-ban to fully concentrate on the contest.

The first night of 30 Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour shows across the UK will take place on Friday, January 17 in Birmingham.
