Cheryl Fergison, the star of EastEnders, has revealed that she has landed a new singing gig.

The 59-year-old soap star played Heather Trott from 2007 until 2012, when she was brutally murdered by vile Albert Square resident Ben Mitchell, who later played Joshua Pascoe. She became a national treasure when she played the role in the BBC soap. Cheryl has appeared in the sitcom Big School, the drama White Island, and the mockumentary Hard Cell, among others.

The actress made it known to fans over the weekend that she would be performing live in Cleveleys, Lancashire, over the weekend. The actress highlighted her show on Instagram and urged viewers to visit her.

She said: “Hello folks! Tonight, the first of February, and tomorrow, Sunday the second, I’m hosting at the Dragon Lounge on Victoria Road West in Cleveleys. Please join us for a fun couple of days because it will be fun. I’ll be there from about 7 o’clock onwards – just turn up or call ahead”.

Cheryl from the soap (BBC) series EastEnders fans will recall her as Heather Trott.

She explained in a further video: “New business, new chef, new owners – there will be some old faces as well. Including my own”. She then continued to tease fans by saying, “Even if you’re sitting on my lap, you’re going to have enough space.”

Fans were quick to react to Cheryl’s post and send her encouragement with one writing: “Aw, have a great time”. And another declared: “Love cheryl” alongside a string of red heart emojis. Another fan added, “Wish I could get there, hope you have an incredible night.”

Cheryl revealed that she had resorted to selling old EastEnders memorabilia as she struggled to make ends meet when she first started playing her new gigs. She stated in an interview last year that she does not want to face trouble, and that while £50 might seem like a lot of money, I will continue to buy and sell, and I will also have to pay taxes on it, as she did for some other people who are making a living.

After being awestruck when she belted out songs from The Greatest Showman at a Pride event in Brighton last summer, fans have petitioned for Cheryl to be cast in a musical. One enraged fan wrote online after seeing the footage from her gig that went viral: “The last thing I thought I would see was Heather from EastEnders doing a Greatest Showman megamix. But she ate”.

In an online message that shared her own love for Pride at the time, Cheryl stated, “Brighton and Hove is where it’s all at folks, we are here to celebrate Pride… with LGBTQ+ families, communities groups, and friends… showing the world that we can all live together and contribute to making this world a better place. Living your life the way you know is best for you is what is important to the body, heart, soul, and mind. Acceptance, patience &amp, tolerance is what we all strive for and of course education is the key. Never stop teaching and never stop learning”.

And at the end of last year, she again won over crowds with her performance at a Blackpool venue where she performed a medley of songs while effortlessly sipping a pint. The singer performed songs by The Marvelettes and Bob Marley, among others, on footage from the night.
