Dubois still on course for Usyk rematch – Warren

According to Frank Warren, IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois insists that he is on course for a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
The 27-year-old Briton was forced to withdraw from his world title defence against New Zealand’s Joseph Parker in Saudi Arabia on Saturday because of illness, but a unification bout against Usyk, the WBO, WBA (Super) and WBO title holder, is still a strong possibility, according to Warren.
You must consider the next move, which I predict will be either Usyk and Anthony Joshua in an all-belt fight. In the next week or so, we will have to figure that out, Warren told BBC 5 Live.
Dubois and Usyk, 38, fought in August 2023 with the Ukrainian winning via a ninth-round stoppage.
After Usyk vacated the belt in June to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion in 25 years, Dubois was promoted to IBF champion.
After halting Joshua in five rounds at Wembley Stadium in September, the Briton was hoping to add to his 22 professional wins over Parker.
However, he was forced to withdraw from the fight on Thursday after receiving a medical evaluation, and Martin Bakole took his place. The Kiwi dispatched him in two rounds.
“Daniel thought he would probably have done the same thing to Parker”, said Warren, 72.
