Sarah Davies has acknowledged that she experienced a heartrending warning from doctors that caused her incredible weight loss.
The Dragons’ Den star revealed how doctors told her that her health was “getting a little out of hand.” She has since lost three stone, which is impressive for her health.
The 40-year-old businesswoman admitted to cutting out chocolate and sugary beverages from her diet after becoming the youngest female investor on the popular BBC show in history in 2019. She explained in a statement to the Mirror how she was advised to “get a handle on her weight” or that she ran the risk of developing type 2 diabetes within ten years.

She continued, “Every year since I’ve had my blood sugar levels checked, I’ve seen that number increase and increase in the pre-diabetic range. Then, two years ago, the doctor told me, ‘ This is getting a little bit out of hand, by this time next year you’ll be pre-diabetic. ‘ It was the kick up the bum I needed”.
Sara started a new sport, including running, and even challenged herself to record a personal best in the Great North Run half-marathon. She claims that as a gauge of her fitness, she hardly ever looks at the scales. She claims to have dropped two dress sizes, but that she now weighs more than she did last year.
And she acknowledges that she isn’t trying to keep her size down. “I’ve got big stretch marks and my mum tum, but it’s part of being human, and I know I’m healthy, and that’s what matters to me”, she added.
She described her experience as a “yes mam” and how she enjoys being a “yes mam.” The entrepreneur has two sons, Charlie and Oliver, with husband Simon, who co-founded her £37million stationary business Crafter’s Companion.
“I’m the mam who likes to say yes to everything”, she confessed. The kids asked, “Can we go to the cinema and watch Sonic 3 Mam?,” after a particularly busy week at work where most people would want to have a pyjama day off. So I said ‘ Yes! ‘
” And then it was, ‘ Can we take our friends, and can we have pancakes? ‘ So I said, ‘ Of course, let’s go pick them all up and let me go and buy some eggs. ‘ So I was making pancakes and feeding the 5, 000, but that’s what I want. I want to live in the house where my entire family wants to live.
