Dowrich back in Windies squad for England ODI series

Shane Dowrich, a wicketkeeper, has been selected for the West Indies team’s one-day international matchup against England in December.

Dowrich has been rewarded with a call-up after leading Comb C&amp, C in the Super50 Cup in 2023–2024.

West Indies host England in three ODI matches between 3-9 December.

Alzarri Joseph has been named the new vice-captain, and Shai Hope will be the team’s captain.

West Indies and England will play five T20 games starting on December 12 and 21 after the ODI series is over.

As they prioritize the T20 leg, Jason Holder and Nicholas Pooran are not included in the 15-man ODI squad.

Sherfane Rutherford, an all-arounder with uncapped batting, and seam bowler Matthew Forde were brought in by the selectors after West Indies failed to qualify for the Cricket World Cup.

Desmond Haynes, the lead selector, stated that there is always anticipation and excitement when England is touring the West Indies.

We anticipate a competitive series, but we also think this team will perform well in our environment. Our vision is crystal clear.

“Our main goal is to develop a strong team. Rebuilding for the Cricket World Cup 2027 is our main priority.

Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Yannic Cariah, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich, Matthew Forde, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Kjorn Ottley, Sherfane Rutherford, Romario Shepherd, and Oshane Thomas make up the West Indies ODI squad.
