Dortmund’s Nmecha Sidelined For ‘Weeks’ With Knee Injury

After the German midfielder injured his knee ligaments, Borussia Dortmund will need to be without him for “a few weeks,” according to interim coach Mike Tullberg on Tuesday.

Nmecha went down after a challenge and was subbed out 12 minutes into Saturday’s 2-2 home draw with Werder Bremen.

One of only a few Dortmund players to have avoided criticism for its recent run of poor form has been the 24-year-old Manchester City youth product.

In Wednesday’s final Champions League group match against Shakhtar Donetsk, Dortmund takes on.

If other outcomes come in the way, the struggling side could still be in the top eight with a win despite having only won one of their previous ten games.

Goalkeeper Gregor Kobel stated to reporters on Tuesday, “It’s not a simple situation, but every club goes through challenging times, and the task is to overcome these challenges.”

“We just need to chalk up some wins and experience some success again,” says the statement of a great team.
