Disney child star Christian Juttner dies aged 60 as co-star shares heartbreaking tribute
Disney’s former child star passed away.
Christian Juttner, who was a part of Return From Witch Mountain, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and The Swarm, passed away at the age of 60. He passed away from natural causes at his Yucca Valley, California, home on November 29, last year. The sad news has been shared by Aiden Juttner, his daughter.
Juttner is survived by his mother Marlene, Aidan, ex-wife Ann, daughter Ryan, son Lucas and sister Shelley. He appeared in Teddy from 1976 to 1977 in the first season of The Bionic Woman, and he has a number of acting credits in both movies and television. The actor’s other TV credits include Wonder Woman, The Rookies, Ironside, two ABC Afterschool Specials and seven installments of The Magical World of Disney.
In Return From Witch Mountain, Juttner starred alongside Bette Davis and Christopher Lee as gang member Dazzler when he was a teenager. In the same year, he portrayed Paul Durant in Michael Caine’s The Swarm and Peter Plimpton in Robert Zemeckis’ directorial debut.
Juttner’s final onscreen appearance came in 1981 as he took part in an episode of General Hospital. When he was eight years old, he made his first appearance on a 1972 episode of Bewitched and was inspired by his mother to pursue acting. Upon retiring from acting, Juttner and his dad John founded a glassworks business.
In Santa Clarita, California, Juttner later launched his own company, which they sold in Saint Croix in the Caribbean. Return From Witch Mountain co-star Ike Eisemann emailed a moving tribute in the wake of his tragic passing. He said: “I have sadly learned that Christian Juttner, one of my co-stars in Return From Witch Mountain, has passed.
One of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and he was an incredible actor. RIP ‘ Dazzler’. “Actress Lydia Cornell, who is best known for her role as Sara Rush on the ABC sitcom Too Close for Comfort, also shared a tribute. She said:” Rest in peace Christian Juttner, “alongside a blue heart, butterfly and a crying emoji.
A fan shared:” How very sad to hear. Condolences to his family and friends. “Another added:” He was in a number of good shows, including the Bionic Woman. He always made me enjoy his acting. Juttner was born in Pomona, California on May 20, 1964. His dad, John, was an entrepreneur who owned a beauty salon, an art gallery and the commercial glass business on the island of St. Croix. In the San Fernando Valley, he later graduated from Birmingham High School. Alongside working for his glass business, he also dabbled in special effects makeup.
