Deschamps To Step Down As France Coach After 2026 World Cup – Source

A source close to the team announced on Tuesday that France’s head coach Didier Deschamps will step down from the position when his current contract expires following the 2026 World Cup.

Deschamps won the 2018 World Cup as both a player and manager, making him the only other player to do so.

He succeeded Laurent Blanc in succeeding Laurent Blanc in 2012, winning both the Euro 2016 final and the 2022 World Cup showpiece to Argentina.

When Les Bleus won their first World Cup on home soil in 1998, Deschamps served as captain.

The 56-year-old has already set the record for longest-serving official France coach.
