Defence Chief, Stakeholders Meet Over Oil Production

General Christopher Musa, the chief of the defense staff, is holding a meeting with important Niger Delta oil and gas companies.

The ongoing meeting, taking place at the Python Officers ‘ Mess in Port Harcourt Barracks, aims to assess security efforts and strategies for increasing Nigeria’s oil production.

In his opening remarks, General Musa stated that the engagement follows the President’s directive to improve oil security and output.

He disclosed that Nigeria’s daily crude oil production has now exceeded 1.8 million barrels, moving closer to the 2.2 million barrels per day target.

He expressed optimism that with the right strategies in place, production could surpass expectations.

A closed-door session was held at the meeting, which included representatives from both domestic and international oil and gas companies.
