Due to a mistake at the Hawaii Sentry tournament, Cameron Davis and Will Zalatoris allegedly squandered thousands of pounds worth of prize money.
On the par five fifteenth hole, the pair accidentally hit each other’s ball during their final round, which resulted in two-shot penalties.
According to the PGA Tour, they returned to play after realizing their error when they reached the green and made their third shot from the correct spot, opting instead to play their fifth one instead.
Australian Davis finished on 22 under par and picked up $410, 000 (£328, 000) in prize money, but would have earned $715, 625 (£572, 000) without the two-shot punishment.
Zalatoris ended the event on 19 under and won $163, 333 (£131, 000) rather than the $283, 200 (£226, 000) if he had finished two shots better off.
