TV icon Davina McCall sets the record straight on whether she’ll marry Michael Douglas. During their latest episode of the Making the Cut podcast, she also set clear birthday expectations.

The 57-year-old actress shared her romantic journey with hair stylist Michael, who she’s been seeing since 2019 and who was there by her side as she battled a health scare caused by a benign brain tumor removal in November.

Despite speculations about getting married since having her operation and potential birthday presents, Davina continued to address the wedding buzz with a sharp statement. As Michael perused the idea of having a miniature 3D-printed image of the couple as a wedding cake top, Davina resisted any speculation, saying, “We are not getting married by the way, anyone who is thinking about this, but, if you are getting married, an amazing thing to have on top of your cake.

However, birthday wishes were not off the table. Davina made one point about the upcoming celebration clear: “I also need a surprise, I don’t want to know what I’m getting.”

Their sincere exchange highlighted Michael’s gift-giving quandary, which is to avoid extravagant presents like expensive jewelry because Davina “doesn’t need more stuff.”

Michael explained the challenges of buying gifts for Davina, stating, “I sometimes find it difficult to buy you a present because you’ve got lots of stuff already and you don’t need anymore stuff. You’re a very low maintenance girl really.”, reports Bristol Live.

Davina said, “I’d go to anything with you, for the experiences” Michael buys for them to share. You give me tickets to events, and that’s what I love most about what you do.

Michael has previously spoken with Closer magazine about the possibility of getting married to Davina.

We frequently discuss it, he continued, “but I don’t believe so. We are not tied to one another, which is what I like about us, in some ways.

Being independent means that we are trying to figure out what it would mean for us to get married, and whether or not we should do it.

Davina and Michael have been dating for five years after splitting from their ex-partners, despite largely keeping their relationship private. The former couple shared three children, Holly, Chester, and Tilly, and they were married to Matthew Robertson for 17 years.

She and Michael first met when he styled her hair for her during her time on Big Brother, and the pair eventually became close friends once they realized they were attracted to one another.

They became legally recognized in 2019, and Rebecca, Davina’s sister, and Michael, who had shared a home over Christmas in 2022, shared a confirmation that they had moved in together in January 2023.
