Nigerian entertainment company Dapper Live has officially secured a record from Guinness World Records for assembling the largest orchestra ever performed at an Afrobeats concert.
The milestone was achieved on December 16, 2025, during the live concert titled “Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience”, held at the Balmoral Eko Convention Centre.
According to confirmation published on the Guinness World Records website, 85 orchestral musicians performed together during the concert, establishing a new global benchmark for the integration of orchestral music with Afrobeats.
Guinness World Records stated, “The largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert is 85 and was achieved by Dapper Live & Artists (Nigeria) in Lagos, Nigeria, on 16 December 2025.”
The record body further explained that the performance featured a conductor-led orchestra, accompanied by a lead singer, choir, dancers and 85 musicians performing in coordination as part of a live orchestral presentation built around an Afrobeats composition.

The organisation added that the event demonstrated how Afrobeats could seamlessly mix orchestral arrangements to create a large-scale musical experience that connects musicians and audiences.
The concert was conceived by Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper, who serves as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Dapper Group and acted as the executive producer of the event.
The musical production was curated by a team of directors, including Bazzman Sam, Fatola and Clintonic, while acclaimed producer Temitayo ‘Tee Y Mix’ Ibitoye handled sound design with engineering support from Mr Bassey. Creative direction for the concert was provided by Director K, while the event was produced by Owambe Events and directed by Dunni Akinwunmi.
The night featured performances from several Afrobeats artistes, including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Cazulee, Kashcoming and DWillsHarmony.
Fuji icons Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika also made special appearances, delivering performances that combined traditional Fuji sounds with the orchestral Afrobeats arrangements.
Announcing the achievement on its Instagram page, the organisers said the event had been formally reviewed and verified by Guinness World Records.
The organisers wrote, “Glad to announce that Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience has been officially reviewed, verified, and confirmed by Guinness World Records for the Largest Orchestra for an Afrobeats Concert.
“With unforgettable performances from T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee, Dwillsharmony and Fuji legends KS1 Malaika and King Saheed Osupa, the night became a powerful fusion of Afrobeats, Fuji, and orchestral brilliance.
“We didn’t just stage a concert. We rewrote the record books. Culture. Precision. History.”
The event showed how Afrobeats is evolving, mixing different musical styles while highlighting the energy and creativity of Nigeria’s modern music scene.
Afrobeats concerts in Nigeria are becoming larger and more theatrical, with artistes increasingly using live orchestras, choirs, dancers, and elaborate stage productions to create immersive performances.
The likes of Asake, Davido and Adekunle Gold have also thrilled their audiences with stellar orchestral performances. The trend reflects Afrobeats’ global growth and the push to deliver world-class live shows.
The global rise of Afrobeats traces its lineage to the ‘Afrobeat’ movement pioneered by Fela Kuti, whose politically charged fusion of jazz and highlife laid the cultural foundation for today’s modern pop sound.
Over the years, the genre has evolved into a global export championed by acts such as D’banj, Timaya, Wizkid, Davido and Tiwa Savage.
