Dancing On Ice star Josh Jones quits just hours before live show as sad statement released
Just before the scheduled start of Dancing On Ice, Josh Jones was forced to resign.
The comedian, who had been paired with professional skater Tippy Packard, has quit the competition after sustaining a nasty injury during rehearsals.
Josh Jones was forced to resign from Dancing on Ice after suffering an injury while practicing, according to a message on the official Dancing On Ice Instagram page. Josh and Tippy’s partnership will be greatly missed. We’ll be supporting Josh and wishing him the best of recovery.
Fans were left heartbroken over the news, with one commenting: “Oh that’s so sad. He performed so well last week and had greatly improved. Hope he’s better soon”. While another wrote that dancing on ice is dangerous because many celebrities don’t take the risk. Josh Jones and this series are in bad shape as a result. Although I am aware that DOI won’t do that, I would like to see Chelsee Healey back.
Others agreed, suggesting that Chelsee Healey should be reinstated after he left the sport. One commented: “Aww that’s a shame. I hope he recovers, but then they could always bring back @chelseehealey”.
It comes just after Dame Sarah Storey’s painful injury forced her to leave the show. After breaking her left ankle weeks before the show even began, the cyclist and swimmer shared photos of her leg in a cast on Instagram. She wrote, “Absolutely gutted to have my Dancing on Ice training interrupted in this way, just as my first routine with @slongchambon was really coming together!
Unfortunately, I fracturing my left ankle as a result of an awkward stumble and fall with my left foot stuck on the ice. I’m so fortunate that Sylvain and Coach Stephen Pickavance were there for me, and that the show’s medical staff is truly world-class.
“The Head of Medical @sharonmorrisonuk rushed right away to find me the best surgeon, leaving me with rehab in progress”! Sarah, who has won numerous gold medals at the Paralympics, continued, “I’m working with the ITV team to come up with a plan for what’s going to happen in January and I’ll always be the biggest cheerleader of the awesome group that is the Class of 2025.
In the interim, I’ll be completely focused on all the strength and mobility exercises I need to complete in order to return to full power and, of course, to my bike before the following season! I’ve had to adjust because my career has had so many ups and downs due to both getting hurt and getting sick, and having two babies since then.
“Thankfully, the surgeon said I have strong bones, otherwise things could have been much worse.” I’m so happy I got to start learning to skate with the most amazing people (see photos 4-7). I could not have asked for a more qualified coach and professional partner. So for now my plans might be interrupted….. but you better believe there’s more news to come”!
