Holly Willoughby, a TV presenter, is accused of “ruining” Dancing On Ice for fans.
After competing in a dance-off against former footballer Anton Ferdinand, Love Island star Chris Taylor was the latest to be dropped from the ITV series on over the weekend.
After receiving the lowest score when the judges’ scores were added by the public vote, the two celebrities had to perform their routines once more on Sunday. Holly and her co-host Stephen Mulhern announced the results live on Sunday night’s show after Chris’ fate was sealed.
Holly took to Instagram to share a photo of herself backstage wearing the stunning gold dress she hosted the live performance in shortly after the most recent round of the ice skating competition was over. “Night all… thank you for watching @dancingonice”, Holly began in the caption.
She continued: “Sad to see @christophertaylorofficial leave, those skate off’s are brutal… so happy for @anton_ferdinand5 though… See you next week for 80’s week”. While many of Holly’s followers rushed to wish the mum-of-three a happy birthday for Monday, or gush over her dress, others were fuming with the TV presenter.
“SPOILER ALERT”, penned one Instagram user underneath Holly’s post. Another Dancing On Ice fan that seemingly planned to watch the show via ITVX’s catch-up services added: “I was about to watch it on catch-up lol, spoiler alert x”.
Chris and his skating partner Robin Johnstone, who had received a score of 32 earlier in the day, returned to their graceful performance to Golden Hour by JVKE on Sunday night. Vanessa Bauer, the reality star’s original skating partner, was forced to leave last week after torn ligaments in “an accident” backstage, making this their second appearance together.
Judge Jayne Torvill previously praised the “quality of the skating” and praised his pivot, while Christopher Dean referred to Chris as being “silent” and said the quietness of the skating was a good quality. Anton Ferdinand and Annette Dytrt performed their energetic routine to Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca” once more, which received a score of 34 from the judges for the first time.
Following the skate-off, judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Dean and Torvill all voted to save Anton and Annette, sending Chris and Robin home. Following the announcement, host Holly told the reality TV star: You’ve been brilliant, and I feel like you’ve loved this even though this partnership hasn’t been long, it’s been enjoyable. Chris acknowledged it was a brief encounter, but jokingly joked that he was.
This Sunday, ITV1 and ITVX air Dancing On Ice.
