Cyndi Lauper, known for her hit Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, shared how a “superfood” diet caused her intense health problems.

The Iconic singer attributed kidney stones to a diet high in spinach on the Table Manners podcast where she revealed her experiences. She explained that her failure to follow a vegan diet caused her to eat spinach every meal.

During the podcast, Cyndi said: “I tried to be a vegan, but you know, I took one thing where they were just delivering food and they every gave me day spinach, every meal spinach. They eventually killed me because I developed kidney stones.

Host Lennie Ware asked: “Oh, you get kidney stones from spinach”? And Cyndi said: “Yes, it has a chemical in it. If you consume too much of this. And you are susceptible to kidney stones because of it. Additionally, Cyndi shared her experience following the diet while “on the road.”

She continued, “I stopped that, but like I tried to eat on the road like that, but they just plain plain blabbed cauliflower.” What must you do to ruin it? Just freaking wash it, cut it, put a little olive oil on it, some salt, put it in the broiler, don’t burn it”.

Following Cyndi’s admission that her Glastonbury Festival performance had sound issues, she responded. Despite the challenges, including technical difficulties, the singer still managed to entertain fans with her classic hits.

Since then, Cyndi has addressed the June 2012 event. She told The Sunday Times: “I couldn’t hear the band and that sucked. I wanted to be really great”. Cyndi, who is getting ready for her final tour, added: “I want to say goodbye big, you know? There is an art to standing still and singing, and I do not have that talent. I’m not sure how long it will take me to give the performance I think is appropriate.

Cyndi has thrilled UK fans with exciting news, and she will be taking a tour later this year despite the unfortunate incident that occurred during her Glastonbury set. The actress has announced the dates for her “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour” in the UK for February 2025. The tour will start on February 8, 2025, in Glasgow at the OVO Hydro. She will also play in Belfast on February 16 at The SSE Arena, London on February 11 at The O2, Birmingham on February 14 at BP Pulse Live, and Manchester on February 9 at Co-op Live.
