A couple in Kano State has welcomed quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

The mother, Hafsatu Yusuf, delivered three boys and two girls at the hospital on Wednesday.
Both the mother and the infants are currently receiving specialised medical attention.
Her husband, Salisu Nufi’u,who is a tricycle rider, said this is his wife’s ninth delivery. He revealed that she previously gave birth to twins, making this her first experience with quintuplets.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Government said it was stepping in to provide full medical care for the newborns and their mother.
The Kano State Ministry of Health confirmed the development in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Na’isa.
It noted that the intervention was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen maternal and child healthcare services in the state.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to reducing maternal and infant mortality while ensuring that vulnerable populations have access to quality healthcare.
“We will continue to support the general public, particularly the underprivileged, to ensure they have access to quality healthcare services,” the statement added.
