‘Congrats Queen’, Davido Celebrates Tems On Grammy Win

David Adeleke, a popularly known as “Davido,” is congratulating his coworker Tems on winning the “Best African Music Performance” category at the 67th Grammy Awards.

Tems won the Grammy for her hit song “Love Me Jeje,” which was her second nomination after her contribution to Future’s chart-topping single “Wait For U.”

On his Instagram account, Davido shared a photo of the singer with the caption “Congrats Queen”!

The Recording Academy introduced the Best African Music Performance category last year. This year’s nomination had the likes of Yemi Alade’s Tomorrow, Asake’s MMS, Chris Brown’s Sensational (featuring Davido &amp, Lojay), and Burna Boy’s Higher competing for the award.

Tyla’s hit song Water, a fusion of South African amapiano and Afropop, made its debut with The Best African Music Performance.

Tems received the award in a tribute to her mother.

Taking the stage, an emotional Tems said, “Wow, dear God. Thank you so much for introducing me to this stage and team.

” Tomorrow is my mum’s birthday and this is her first Grammys. She has really done a lot for me and my brother, so I just want to thank you, ma.

“Happy birthday mum. And I want to thank my team. Muyiwa, Wale, my beautiful stylist Dunsin, and my lovely girls… I love you guys.

” Thank you so much. To God be the glory. Honestly, He has changed my life so much. Thank you, Thank you, God”.
