Confab: Adeyemi Says Tinubu Should Give Youths Pictures Of Nigeria In 30 Years
The Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre in Lagos, Sam Adeyemi, has stated that President Bola Tinubu must present compelling images of Nigeria’s future in advance of the national youth conference scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.
“Mr president needs to come with pictures, 3D of what Nigeria will be like in 30 years ‘ time”, he said as a guest on , Channels Television’s Sunrise programme on Saturday.
Adeyemi argued that leaders must work to influence people’s belief systems to lead sustainable change.
No leader can bring about long-term change without changing a person’s mindset and culture, he said.
Adeyemi recalled a commissioner’s meeting with a governor who was serving but whose commissioners didn’t understand the importance of collective development.
He said, “I have an ex-governor who is a friend. I went to visit him whilst he was governor. And then he said, ‘ Brother Sam, my biggest problem is not infrastructure’. He was celebrating more than two years in office at the time, just as they were celebrating two years.
He said that I hire the best contractor to do the job when I want to do it. He said my biggest problem is mindset. One of the state executive members told me that they were having a conversation somewhere and that the governor would just be talking about vision, according to him in my own cabinet. Will we eat vision? ‘
“He said, “Can you imagine that the members of my cabinet, the state executive, do not even comprehend vision?” They don’t value vision, they are just looking for what they want to east talk less of the citizens'”.
The cleric added that Nigeria’s leadership dynamics must change in order for it to develop.
