Claudia Winkleman’s Traitors grey coat hails from Kate Middleton’s go-to brand
Although we’re eagerly waiting for the final three episodes of The Traitors to commence, we’re still thinking about one of Claudia Winkleman’s most recent showstopping looks on the show. During last Friday’s episode, Claudia sported a gorgeous grey wool coat, which she layered over a check shacket and black skinny jeans for the perfect cosy country look.
The exact wool coat Claudia wore was from Me+Em, although sadly the exact piece was from last season and is no longer available on the website. However don’t despair, because Me+Em still has an almost identical one available to shop with the Check Wool Trench Coat, £550.

Claudia is in good company with her Me+Em Check Wool Trench Coat, as Kate Middleton is also a huge fan of the brand. The Princess of Wales’ iconic Breton long sleeved tops also hail from Me+Em, although they’ve been sold out for some time now.
Just like Claudia’s coat, the newer version of Me+Em’s Check Wool Trench Coat comes in a deep charcoal grey colour with a double breasted fastening and oversized lapel. However, what sets it apart is the lapels feature a subtle check print which, lets face it, suits Claudia’s Traitors wardrobe to a tee.
The Check Wool Trench Coat is a contemporary take on a classic winter trench coat, made from an Italian wool-blend fabric with signature trench details, including a belted waist, shoulder flaps and adjustable button tab cuffs. There two different check patterns can be found in several areas of the coat, including the bottom lapel, underneath the upper lapel (which is visible when worn with the collar turned up), on the lining and the underside of the belt.
If you’d prefer a more minimalist grey coat like Claudia’s, we’ve found some other great alternatives. Bella Freud’s Jean Genet Coat is currently on sale down from £1250 to £625, saving you 50% and – even better – it’s also the exact same coat Claudia wore in an earlier episode, which she paired with a statement-making lace dress in the woods.
Elsewhere, H& M’s Handmade Wool-Blend Coat is reduced from £189 to £133 and available in both tan and dark grey. It features a similar belted silhouette, with a shawl collar and a cosy wool-blend material that’s perfect for winter.
Meanwhile Nobody’s Child has the Oversized Grey Double Breasted Wool Blend Coat for £229, which is ideal if you want a more minimalist silhouette. Doing away with the trench coat-inspired details, it has a classic oversized silhouette and double breasted fastening up the front.
