Claudia Winkleman’s go-to Victoria Beckham eyeliner for the perfect smudgy look as The Traitors returns

Claudia Winkleman’s go-to Victoria Beckham eyeliner for the perfect smudgy look as The Traitors returns

Besides her signature fringe and impeccable taste in knitwear, there’s one other thing that defines Claudia Winkleman’s unique sense of style: her eyeliner. And as The Traitors returns to our screens tonight with the host of the show, a 52-year-old presenter, we’ve done some research to learn what brand she uses to achieve her recognizable appearance.

Although Claudia has undoubtedly tried dozens of brands over the years, Debbie Dannell, her makeup artist, revealed the exact product she used on the actress for the most recent season of Strictly Come Dancing. After sharing a behind-the-scenes snap of Claudia on Instagram, Debbie was asked by one viewer: “Gorgeous x what eyeliner is this”? to which the MUA replied: “Victoria Beckham, they are so good”.

The Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Eyeliner is available in 18 different shades, including navy, bronze, and burgundy, as well as more unusual hues like mint green, compared to the traditional black liner look Claudia is most frequently married to. Shoppers can choose from matte, shimmer and jewel finishes, with each liner coming in at £32 direct from her website or over at Selfridges.

With a creamy texture that glides on without dragging or pulling, the VB eyeliner is ideal for Claudia’s go-to smudgy effect. You can blend it out and smudge it to give it a more lived-in appearance that rivals Claudia’s.

It’s also packed with skin-loving ingredients which are suitable for all skin types, and it’s completely smudge-proof and waterproof, so once you’ve got it how you want it, it’ll stay put all day. Additionally, the eyeliner is completely cruelty-free and vegan.

The liner has racked up a 4.4-star rating based on almost 30, 000 shopper reviews, with many hailing it as the ‘ best ‘ they’ve used while snapping it up in multiple shades. One shopper wrote: “Second one I’ve bought, best eyeliner I found”.

A second added: “I’ve been using this soft, long-lasting eyeliner for a while now, and I’m absolutely hooked! It’s super simple to create a variety of looks thanks to the smooth and effortless formula. Even on those long days, it stays put all day long without fading or smudging. The colour payoff is fantastic, and it’s really easy to build up the intensity. And let’s not forget about the packaging! It’s sleek and stylish, making it a pleasure to use”.

However, one left a three-star rating, commenting: “The eyeliner goes on like a dream but you have to be careful not to get it into your waterline otherwise it transfers under the eyes. After a few hours, I develop blue/purple-colored panda eyes. This is something I must apply very cautiously because it will quickly blunt the pencil. I never got this with my No7 kohl liner”.

Claudia has been known to use a number of different lines, including the Victoria Beckham liner. Back in 2022, she told Marie Claire of her love of Lord &amp, Berry Kajal, which costs £14. She said: “It goes on and never comes off. I’ve never knowingly taken my make-up off. What I put on in the 1970s was what I put on first. She is also said to enjoy the feline-colored MAC eye kohl pencil.

We’re also a big fan of the 19/99 Beauty Precision Colour Pencil eyeliner, which you can purchase from Cult Beauty for £19. There are bright colors like orange, yellow, and sky blue to let your creativity run wild in addition to the traditional tones of black and taupe.

The Traitors returns on New Year’s Day, 8pm, BBC One – you can steal Claudia’s signature eyeliner look with the Victoria Beckham eyeliner, £32, here.
