Despite her ongoing success, Claudia Winkleman has revealed that she constantly worries that her presenting career may end.
In a surprising admission, the 52-year-old host said she would understand if producers decided they were “done with her” as she declared: “I cannot believe my luck”.
“I always panic because]I’m] freelance”, Claudia shared. Someone might suddenly turn around and say, “We are done with her,” as I read it aloud on tele.
” And, that’s OK, they can, and I give them full permission and I get it, I’d be like, ‘ byesy bye, night night, thank you, I’ve had a lovely run’. “
Claudia stated that she has considered taking a Masters degree or enrolling in an embroidery course as a backup plan over the years.
The presenter is currently juggling a busy schedule that includes The Traitors, Strictly Come Dancing, and The Piano, so don’t worry.
Claudia recalled a conversation she had with her husband Kris Thykier during season one filming ahead of the third season of The Traitors’ return to screens.
She shared:”]I said] I’m obsessed by it, but I am wearing red fingerless gloves, a cape and I’m talking about people being murdered.
“And, I think it might be over. I believe it is over because I had a good run before people started to like it.
The response to the show from her “heroes,” including Russell T. Davies and Kathy Burke, was particularly enthralling to Claudia.
Despite this, Claudia acknowledged that she had urged the producers to stop bringing it back for another season.
She added on Gabby Logan’s The Mid. Point podcast: “I said to Kate, I said to our bosses, I was like, ‘ we’ve done it once and it did well, but I don’t think we should do it again’, to which they just leaned over and took my temperature]and said] ‘ we’re doing it again'”.
The program then won a number of awards, including two for Most Popular Reality in the Most Popular Category at the National Television Awards.
Adding her thoughts about the new series, she continued: “I don’t know if this one will do well, series three, I don’t know”, adding of its success: “We don’t want to take it for granted”.
Tonight at 8 p.m. on BBC One, The Traitors will be broadcast.
