Claire Sweeney sips drink in bikini on Barbados beach as she moves on from Ricky Hatton

As she left Ricky Hatton, Claire Sweeney looked at ease sipping a beverage on a beach in Barbados.

The star and Ricky’s whirlwind romance started at the beginning of last year after the boxing champion, 46, and soap star, 53, met while competing on ITV’s Dancing on Ice. However, it seemed that the two were unable to go the distance as they called time on their relationship.

The couple reportedly hoped to continue being close friends, but their romance sank because of their differing lifestyles. As Claire soaked up the sun on a beach in Barbados while the UK battles severe cold, Claire opted for string bikinis and cocktails.

In a gradient bikini with pink, red, and orange, the Corrie actress looked stunning. She added a pair of sunglasses to protect herself from the sun and tied her blonde hair in a messy bun on top of her head. The actress rose from her sun lounger and sipped on a beverage in a quick snap.

As she lounged up, she also topped up her tanning. As she took a much-needed break from her hectic schedule in the UK, the actress had her eyes closed and wore a pair of black headphones. The star celebrated the festive season in the stunning country with her eight-year-old son, Jaxon.

On her Instagram, Claire has been updating followers about her tropical trip. She shared a photo of herself and her son in full costume this week on her Instagram page. Jaxon looked dapper in floral shirt, red trousers and suspenders. A sequinned off-the-shoulder dress by Claire made her look all glam.

Claire made an open statement about her relationship with Ricky at the end of 2024 when she appeared at the London show The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical. Speaking about the breakup, she explained to MailOnline: “I’m great – we’re still friends, we were friends, we dated and now we’re friends again. It’s all good”!

A source earlier that day claimed to the publication that the ex-couple remained “good friends” and that there never was “fallout between them.” They decided it was time for them to end their romantic relationships. They enjoyed their time as a couple and have plenty of shared interests, but their lifestyles are very different”, the source said.

Offering some insight into the cause of the split, the source continued: “While Claire is one of the biggest stars on Coronation Street and is very career-gliding, Ricky’s more freewheeling and unpredictable. Ricky is already packing his belongings for a trip to Tenerife, where he feels more at home. Meanwhile, Claire’s putting her heart and soul into her career, leaving romance behind”.

The star has two divorces: one with Tony Hibbard from 2001 to 2007 and the other with Daniel Reilly from 2013 to 2015. Meanwhile, Ricky has never married but was in an 11-year romance with Jennifer Dooley from 2005 until 2016. He is also the father of 23-year-old boxer Campbell Hatton, who he shares with another ex-girlfriend who is also called Claire.

Ricky mentioned Dancing On Ice and how it changed his life in June of last year. He said: “I had a good laugh on the ice. I mean, after the first day, I was scared to death but I always love a challenge.

” I got knocked out in the first round, but I was able to able to meet Claire. Before Claire, “Ricky joked ahead of the event,” I was always a Billy no mate at these things. No, it’s great! Since we’ve been together for about five months, I’m happy to see it continue.
