CDS Dismisses Military’s Involvement In Forced Abortion In North, Demands Apology

General Christopher Musa, the head of the FDefense Staff, refuted accusations that the military had been carrying out forced abortions of children in Northern Nigeria after the incident.

In a Reuters report from February 2022, it was reported that the military carried out a covert abortion program to combat armed groups in the northeast. It also included the termination of at least 10,000 female and male pregnancies.

However, General Musa, who was a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, slammed the allegations, indicating that they were machinations of NGOs who don’t wish Nigeria well

“I would like to have you call them right away and inquire about that.” I was the theater commander when they made this claim, and I felt bad because I noticed that the majority of these organizations didn’t serve us, the CDS said.

What is the purpose of the phrase “Whenever we are making progress and succeeding, they throw this at us” and make us look bad and demoralize our soldiers. Are they not happy we are succeeding?

I met the then-chief of staff (Lucky Irabor) when that incident occurred. We are silent because these men have been doing this. I’m adamant that nothing similar to this has occurred; let’s do some digging.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) special panel established by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) concluded that there was no evidence of any wrongdoing by the military. adding that a public apology was necessary.

In January 2023, the Human Rights Commission established an independent committee, and I was the first to testify. We gave them unrestricted access to any location they wanted to go on their own once they finished and produced their report.

We have filed an appeal with the Attorney General because they falsely defame us. He said, “Let them come and publicly apologize and say that they were mistaken.”

We have been working with international organizations if you accuse us of doing that, which is the unintended consequence. Local NGOs, the UN: Do you claim that we have been doing this for ten years despite not reporting? Do you also indict them? When the report was released, they turned down the opportunity to appear.
