Native Americans condemn Pentagon move to preserve Wounded Knee medals

The Pentagon review, which many historians regard as a massacre, was criticized by the National Congress of American Indians, which had previously ruled against reversing medals awarded to US soldiers at the 1890 Battle of Wounded Knee.

“It’s not patriotic to commemorate war crimes. The executive director of the Congress, Larry Wright Jr., said in a statement released on Saturday that this decision undermines truth-telling, reconciliation, and the healing that India and the United States still require.

Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense for US President Donald Trump, stated in a video released on X late on Thursday that a review panel had suggested allowing the soldiers to keep their medals in a study that was finished the year, and that he complied with that recommendation.

They deserve those medals, we’re making it clear. Their place in our nation’s history is no longer up for debate, Hegseth said, and this decision is now final.

The defense secretary criticized his predecessor for not choosing the same course of action, claiming that the former Pentagon chief was more concerned with being “politically correct than historically correct.”

The Massacre of the Wounded Knee

More than 300 Lakota Sioux men, women, and children were killed and injured on December 29, 1890, in South Dakota at the Battle of Wounded Knee, also known as the Wounded Knee Massacre.

The Indian Wars were overthrown into ceding their lands before being forced onto reservations by Native Americans with the events at Wounded Knee.

Before leaving office in January, Lloyd Austin, who was defense secretary under US President Joe Biden, had ordered a review of the military honors. However, he had not yet made a final decision.

In a resolution passed in 1990, Congress expressed “deep regret” for the conflict.

The Congress of the United States of America should acknowledge the significance of the Massacre at Wounded Knee Creek and express its deep regret to the Sioux people, particularly the survivors and their descendants, in the resolution.

Since taking office, Hegseth has criticized the Pentagon’s efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Native American History Month and Black History Month commemorations have been discontinued by the Pentagon.

Liam Gallagher’s ‘real reason’ for skipping Noel’s all star Oasis Wembley after party

Noel Gallagher, the star of Oasis, is holding a star-studded after party, but his brother won’t, according to reports.

To mark the end of Oasis’ UK tour, Noel Gallagher is said to be throwing a party at his favourite bar. But while several celebrities will be at the event, his brother and bandmate Liam reportedly won’t be.

The party follows a sold-out performance at Wembley Arena tonight (27 September). The VIP guest list includes Lady Gaga, Johnny Depp and Matthew McConaughey. The Gallagher brother’s children Anais, Lennon and Gene may also be in attendance.

Liam is said to be going out with his fiancée Debbie Gwyther instead of his brother, who is known for partying the night away in true rock ‘n ‘roll fashion. Some people have questioned whether his decision to attend his brother’s party and have a low-key night with him is a sign of trouble in the band, but a source has refuted that claim.

Instead, before the band departs to South Korea, Liam doesn’t want to risk losing his voice. The final night of the UK tour was a party that Liam and Noel had planned to attend, but Liam’s chose to have a low-key celebration with Debbie instead.

Because he can’t afford to become ill or have his voice harmed, they’re planning an early-ish night. Noel is also planning a party at his beloved Chiltern Firehouse.

Noel expressed support for his brother’s decision to stay at home, but that he was anticipating the party’s participation far too much. He wants Liam there, but he is aware that more needs to be done and that he needs to go as far as he can. However, Noel is very excited about the visit because Chiltern, his favorite London hotspot, is nearby.

Chiltern Firehouse only recently reopened its doors to guests. In February, the venue had to shut down after a fire destroyed it. But, after rebuilding, the lobby was opened to a select group of celebrities and friends at the start of London Fashion Week, including Kate Moss and Madonna.

Noel reportedly wanted to party there as soon as it was possible, but he was “devastated” by the fire. He even spoke about it on stage about how devastated he was when it burned down last year.

“He told them that this was the ideal opportunity to throw a party as soon as they were back up and running.” Catering and a limitless supply of Supersonic cocktails will be provided.

Noel dedicated Don’t Look Back In Anger to the club in July, making it abundantly clear that he was deeply affected by the Firehouse fire. He claimed that the plague, the great fire, and the blitz were among the tragedies that occurred. The Firehouse, my favorite bar, was the victim of a tragedy that was greater than any other, and it was “f****** burned down” this year.

The end of the tour has coincided with details being released about an upcoming Oasis film. The film is set to include “phenomenal” footage of Liam and Noel’s reunion after years of animosity. Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is producing the documentary. His crew were allowed inside the meetings and rehearsal rooms when Liam and Noel discussed the possible comeback and then began working together again. The result is a rich fly-on-the-wall insight, including mobile phone video as well as sit-down interviews.

“Steve and his team have incredible access to the footage and access,” said an insider. Never have you seen Liam and Noel so vulnerable and openly. This is much more significant than a “let’s do it for the money” return. It emphasizes deep-seated feelings of jealousy, ill will, anger, and a strong desire for reconciliation.

Fans were quick to express their opinions on social media, with one user proclaiming, “NORTH IS 12!!!! She is actually a child. Why do her mother and all the adults around her allow her to dress and act in this manner? Don’t get me started on the piercing, please. It’s completely inappropriate to seduce herself like this at such a young age.

One user wrote, “Guyssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Simply put, this is unacceptable. North is 12-years-old. Yes, we’re all for expressing ourselves through fashion, but this just sounds inappropriate. Kim Kardashian is a shame.

“I hate to say that, but Kanye was afraid of this,” she said. He didn’t want North to use TikTok and social media when she was just 9 years old because of this. Why does Kim allow North to dress like a woman in her 20s when Kim was a child when Kim was a child? Another user infuriated by “bad parenting.”
