Davina McCall’s boyfriend Michael Douglas reveals plans for future wedding after six years

Davina McCall and Michael Douglas have known each other for decades as he originally styled Davina’s hair during her Big Brother presenting days – and they’ve been dating for 6 years

Davina McCall’s partner, Michael Douglas, revealed their future wedding plans while walking the red carpet at the National Television Awards.

The couple have known each other for decades as he originally styled Davina’s hair during her Big Brother presenting days. Over time, they developed a deeper bond than a typical hairdresser and client. Michael started regularly bring his children over to Davina’s house when he came round to fix up her locks, and the pair considered themselves “family friends”.

Davina split up with her ex-husband Matthew Robertson in 2017, but she didn’t start dating Michael until two years later. When she was asked how their relationship went from platonic to romantic, she said it was a gradual process.

Fans have been hoping for updates on their relationship and Michael kept them on their toes during a chat with The Mirror at the NTAs on Wednesday evening.

“There could be wedding bells on the way, who knows, I’m not going anywhere else if that’s why you mean. But we’re in no rush for any of that, we just enjoy each others company,” he explained.

Michael has been by her side through it all, including Davina’s health battle last year. In November, the presenter needed a craniotomy to remove a benign colloid cyst from her brain.

The rare tumour was discovered during a routine menopause health scan, and posed the frightening risk of sudden death if left untreated.

While the operation was successful, Davina temporarily suffered from short-term memory loss, which she admits tested her relationship.

Davina said she and Michael practise “radical honesty”, which once led him to admit he found her “annoying” at times during her recovery.

After a final MRI scan earlier this year, she learned her tumour wasn’t returned and she was able to return to work hosting ITV’s Long Lost Family.

She credits Michael with supporting her through the ordeal and encouraging her to return to filming when she was ready.

The couple’s bond has only become stronger since the operation, but despite public speculation, they aren’t in a hurry to tie the knot. When quizzed about it, Davina smiled: “We’re in no rush. We’re really happy.”

Stacey Solomon slams ‘ludicrous’ NTAs decision just hours before ceremony

Stacey Solomon shared her candid thoughts on a big decision by the 2025 National Television Awards ahead of her arrival at the annual ceremony at London’s O2 Arena

Just hours before taking to the National Television Awards red carpet in London, Stacey Solomon hit out at a “ludicrous” decision by the organisation. After overhearing Magic Radio presenters Tom Price and Lucy Horobin discussing what big fans they were of BBC reality show Stacey & Joe, the former X Factor star decided to ring in to say thank you.

Speaking to the presenters, Stacey said: “I was listening to you and you were being so lovely I thought oh my gosh I need to call in.”

As Lucy asked about Stacey & Joe and Sort Your Life Out going head to head in the Entertainment category tonight, Stacey said: “They’ve put Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe in the same blummin’ category for some reason.

“We’re up against each other which is absolutely ludicrous! But you know what I’m so grateful to just be going, it’s so nice to be shortlisted and nominated knowing that it’s a public vote.”

Stacey added: “All our family are going to be there, it’s the first time our family has got to go to anything like this so it’s going to be amazing no matter what happens.”

Tom questioned how Joe would feel if Sort Your Life Out takes home the prize as he is not involved. Stacey joked: “He’ll secretly be giving me daggers, but outwardly I’m sure he’ll clap!”

The 35-year-old had also earlier issued a statement ahead of tonight’s NTAs following her epic rant after her BAFTAs snub. The presenter was fuming in May when she lost out on two gongs for her BBC show, Sort Your Life Out.

And now, after posting a snap of an elegant black dress hanging up in the bathroom of Pickle Cottage as well as two adorable girls’ floral dresses alongside suit jackets and trousers, Stacey told fans she was grateful to be nominated.

She wrote: “It’s NTA day. Just got home from work, now it’s time to get ready. Just wanted to say, no matter what, I’m so grateful to be nominated for an NTA.

“The fact that we are going tonight with our whole family is so special, I can’t even put it into words. It’s voted for by YOU so thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving us this moment. We will never forget it and NEVER take it for granted. To the moon and back everyone x.”

Earlier in the year she hadadmitted she was ‘devastated’ after losing out on a gong after being nominated for Entertainment Performance for her show, Sort Your Life Out. The gong was instead awarded to Joe Lycett.

The BBC One show was also nominated for Factual Entertainment, but was pipped to the post by Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour.

Tending to her garden at Pickle Cottage, Stacey shared a video of herself the morning after the awards. In it she said: “Good morning from the veg patch, about to do the morning water. We didn’t win a BAFTA and I know I’m supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I’ll be honest I’m devastated.

Stacey Solomon hit with major blow just hours before NTAs after nominations

Loose Women panellist Stacey Solomon has been nominated for several awards at the National Television Awards tonight, which starts on ITV1 at 8pm

Stacey Solomon was hit with a major blow just hours before the National Television Awards began. The Loose Women panellist, who rose to fame on The X Factor, was nominated for TV presenter as well as in the Factual Entertainment category for Sort Your Life Out and Stacey Joe.

Despite the impressive nominations, bookies predict she will be the least likely to win the best TV presenter at this year’s event. She’s going against fan-favourite hosts Ant and Dec, Alison Hammond, Claudia Winkleman and Gary Lineker. Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly usually take home the award, so it wouldn’t be surprise if the same happens this year.

According to bookies, Ant and Dec are 1/5 to scoop the award for the 22nd year in a row.

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Claudia Winkleman is second in the betting at 4/1 and Alison Hammond priced at 5/1.

The awards are unlikely to stop there for the duo, with their iconic Saturday Night Takeaway likewise 1/5 to win the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award ahead of The Graham Norton Show at 3/1, while another one of the duo’s programmes – I’m A Celebrity – completes the top three at 7/2.

Lee Astley, from betideas.com, said: “Ant and Dec’s dominance at the National Television Awards is set to continue tonight, with the duo firmly odds-on to pick up two more awards at the O2 Arena.

“The pair are 1/5 for glory in two separate categories for tonight’s ceremony, namely the TV Presenter Awards – which they’ve won every year since 2001 – and in the Bruce Forsyth Award for their timeless Saturday Night Takeaway series.”

Meanwhile, Stacey, who is up for Best Presenter at the star-studded ceremony this evening in London, was fuming in May when she lost out on two gongs for her BBC show, Sort Your Life Out.

The X Factor star admitted she didn’t take the loss well four months ago, however she seems in a brighter mood ahead of tonight’s NTAs as she shared a measured message on social media.

Posting a snap of an elegant black dress hanging up in the bathroom of Pickle Cottage as well as two adorable girls’ floral dresses alongside suit jackets and trousers, Stacey told fans she was grateful to be nominated.

Revealing she was going to the star-studded bash in the capital with all her family, she wrote: “It’s NTA day.

Wayne Rooney’s footballer son Kai issues heartbreaking update – ‘Life can’t get worse’

Wayne Rooney knows all about the ups and down of football, but the Manchester United legend’s young son Kai is currently learning these things the hard way

Wayne Rooney’s 15-year-old son Kai has said ‘life can’t get worse’ after suffering a painful injury while playing in Manchester United’s development team. Rooney, 35, won numerous titles at Old Trafford and is hoping his eldest child can follow in his footsteps.

Unfortunately, the only steps young Kai will be taking in the coming days will be on crutches. Before the setback, Kai was enjoying a lightning fast ascent at Rooney’s old club.

He was recently called up to the United-19s squad where he was playing with other prospects who are four years older than him. His call-up was then followed by a sweet goal he scored for the Under-18s, which saw him fire a left-footed volley into the top corner.

Sadly, any positive momentum he has amassed will have to be rediscovered as he is set for a period on the sidelines. Kai uploaded a mirror selfie of himself showing off the protective boot he has on his right foot. In a caption overlaying the photo, he wrote: “Life can’t get worse” alongside a crying emoji.

It’s a post which will invoke empathy from all footballers who have suffered a bad injury in their career. The nature of his injury or how long it will stop him from playing is currently unclear.

However, the tone in his post suggests it may be a long time until he is playing for United again. While he is yet to wrestle the spotlight onto himself in the same way as his iconic father, there has been plenty of promise around Kai.

He usually features in a central position for United, just like Rooney Sr, but he has also starred in the wider areas. Kai was particularly impressive while playing for the Red Devils in the Super Cup NI in Northern Ireland earlier this summer.

Wayne also starred in a similar tournament when he was a young and hungry prospect at Everton. Rooney cheered on his son’s displays alongside wife Coleen and his youngest sons Kit and Cass.

The former England skipper was recently asked to explain any influence he has had on Kai’s youthful football career so far. Instead of peppering him with advice, the Reds all-time highest goal-scorer is allowing Kai to play the game in the way he sees fit.

In a previous interview, Rooney told BBC Sport: “I just let him play. I think they started the competition well, they won 3-0, he scored the penalty and got an assist. So I think he started OK. He just plays and that’s all he’s done during his time playing.

“I think it’s very unfair for anyone to expect him to go and do all kinds. He’s just playing, he’s a 15-year-old boy playing his football, enjoying it. Of course he gets different attention to a lot of his team-mates but I think he handles that really well.

“He has great coaches at Manchester United, so I take a stand off approach. I speak to him, but for me it’s all about his mentality and his mindset, to make sure he keeps enjoying it – that’s the main thing for me.”

Kai has been with the United academy since the age of 11. He joined the Red Devils youth set-up in 2020, where he his playing style has evoked memories of his famous father strutting his stuff at Old Trafford.

Katie Price apologises to Emily Atack ‘after offensive jibe about her in deleted post’

Katie Price has issued an apology to Emily Atack following a now-deleted post on social media, which comes six years on from an apparent ‘feud’ between the pair

Reality TV star Katie Price has issued an apology to Emily Atack after reportedly sharing an offensive message about the Inbetweeners star in a now-deleted post. It comes following an apparent ‘feud’ between them years ago.

Katie, 47, issued the apology on Instagram last night whilst on tour with Kerry Katona. The pals are touring venues together at the moment as part of An Evening with Katie and Kerry, which had its opening night over the weekend. They were in Sutton Coldfield for the latest show yesterday.

Amid the tour, Katie is said to have made a jibe towards Emily in a post on the social media platform recently. She has since apologised for any offense caused and expressed love for the comedian in the follow-up message.

According to the Sun, Katie made a reference to an offensive joke about Emily that dates back to 2019. It said that in the recent post, which has since been deleted, the former glamour model wrote a message about Emily being “fishy”.

The message is said to have been over the top of a photo that showed Katie and pal Kerry. The outlet has blurred the full caption but a censored version of the apparent post reads: “I hope my sister doesn’t see this Emily Atack you think you’re funny fishy on [blurred text] and I have a mysterious rash.”

Katie has since issued an apology. She shared a video message on her Instagram Story last night, in which she told her followers that she had played a game of truth or dare with the audience at one of the shows on the ongoing tour.

She said in the video: “Hey everyone, just to let you know the post that went up before, I’m on tour and it was a truth or dare challenge where the audience … I said ‘dare’ and the audience had to say what I had to put up on Instagram.”

Katie added: “So if anyone was offended, and Emily Atack, I love you to bits. I didn’t mean any of it. It wasn’t me. It was a challenge but we’ve now deleted it. So I apologise for that. But it was a part of a truth and a dare game on our tour.”

There’s said to have been a feud between them after Emily reportedly made a joke about Katie whilst on I’m A Celebrity companion show Extra Camp in 2019. The comment was described as a “brutal STD joke” at the time.

It’s said to have come after Emily’s co-hosts Joel Dommett and Adam Thomas were seen in the same pool where Katie and her now ex-husband Peter Andre had cosied up to each other years prior when they both did I’m A Celebrity back in 2004. As she pulled a face, Emily reportedly joked: “I hope you boys went to the clinic after being in that pool.”

As reported at the time, Katie went on to hit out at Emily, teasing that she was heading to Australia to confront her. She said in a video message in 2019: “So Emily Atack you think it’s clever do you to slag me off? Who are you anyway?”

She added: “Looks like I’m coming for you. [If] you’ve got something to say don’t say it behind my back on telly say it to my face. Because all the men I know you’ve been with haven’t got a good thing to say about you.” The video then concluded with Katie wafting her hand under her nose as she said: “Phwoar, fishy!”
