Casualty’s Amanda Mealing victim rushed to help cocaine-fuelled BBC star after horror smash

Amanda Mealing, a famous actress, was hit by the man who rushed over to help the star, who had blood down her face when she was high on cocaine.

After she crashed into his car while high on cocaine, Amanda Mealing’s victim rushed to his aid. When he approached a bend at 10.14 a.m. on January 26, 2018, off-duty nurse Mark Le Sage noticed Amanda’s Mini on the wrong side of the road in his Skoda Kodiaq, a 1.6ton SUV.

The actress who played no-nonsense Connie Beauchamp on the BBC medical drama and its sister soap, Holby City, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of cocaine and driving without due care and attention. The court also heard how the actress turned director had 18mcg of cocaine in her blood, with the legal limit being 10mcg. The actress has been banned from driving for 22 months and orders to pay £485 in fines.

Amanda’s body weight exceeded 240 mg of benzoylecgonine, the chemical that cocaine leaves after it has been metabolized, according to the Boston Magistrates Court. This exceeds the legal legal limit of 50 mcg almost five times. Mark Le Sage’s natural instincts triggered when he approached, despite being knocked unconscious following the collision.

Before the collision, the off-duty nurse had been traveling to work and had been performing in the operating rooms. He immediately ran over to help the star when he noticed that Ms Mealing had blood pouring down her face. Mr. Le Sage has provided more information about the events that followed the crash in a recent interview.

He told the Daily Mail, “I looked over and saw she had blood down her face.” There was an off-duty firefighter following my car, he added, and he had pulled over to give her first aid, he added. I went over to see her, and I believe my nursing instincts came out. She was still in her car, waiting. I had to check on her before going any further.

He claimed that the police at the side of the roadside had taken Ms Mealing’s breath and that they had checked his phone to make sure he hadn’t used it in the days leading up to the collision. Because the ambulance that had been dispatched for him was moved to a different incident, paramedics instructed Mark to make his own way to the hospital for his injuries.

An air ambulance also attended the collision in Deeping St Nicholas, Lincolnshire, while Ms. Mealing was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Mark claims that after the collision, an off-duty fire officer immediately stopped behind his car to offer Amanda first aid. In the accident in January 2024, Mealing, 57, who went by the name Amanda Sainsbury, suffered a head cut, a broken wrist, and a broken clavicle, according to Marie Stace, the prosecution’s attorney.

However, Mark informed the prosecutor Ms. Stace that he didn’t think Amanda should be imprisoned for the incident during a court hearing on Friday. He claimed that Amanda had “suffered” like he had and that the court had heard about his childbirth. He claimed that he did not believe it appropriate for her to be imprisoned.

Due to a new tremor, Mark was forced to resign from his position as a theatre nurse after the incident. Additionally, he is unable to work in the operating rooms because he is unable to stand on his feet for a long period of time.

Mealing admitted to using cocaine the night before in a police interview, according to Ms. Stace. Le Sage stated in a victim impact statement that his fine motor skills have been severely hampered, preventing him from continuing his work as a theatre nurse.

There is no evidence of that level of injury, according to Mealing’s lawyer, Mr. Edward Lloyd, who represented the defendant in court. He claimed Le Sage’s account of his injuries was made up by him. My client admitted drug driving at the very first opportunity, according to Mr. Lloyd, “in terms of the offence.”

She is deeply ashamed of it, she says. She doesn’t actually use drugs. She claims she should have known better because her brother, who was 18 years old, overdosed on drugs.
