Caitlyn Jenner has been slammed for attending a ball to support Donald Trump.
The Olympian is no stranger when it comes to supporting the scandal-hit president and has often used her platform to share her views on topics, as well as discussing her friendship with Trump. Caitlyn, 75, is a long-term Republican supporter and had appeared at fundraising events during Trump’s 2024 campaign rally as well as his election night party.
Kris Jenner’s former partner was one of several high profile guests at the prestigious ceremony on Monday, joining the likes of Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Laurence Fox, Nigel Farage, Conor McGregor, Jake and Logan Paul and Priti Patel as Trump was sworn in. However, many have slammed Caitlyn for supporting the former reality star, who used his victory to clamp down on the rights that transgender people hold.
Taking to Instagram, the star shared a snap of Trump shortly after his first inauguration in 2017 and wrote alongside the post: “Always stick with your gut. I supported him from DAY 1 and was honoured to be there for the first inauguration. Happier than ever to be back for the second one, supporting @realdonaldtrump who along with his team will MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! #inauguration2025 #maga. “

Her upload which has been liked over 13,000 faced harsh criticism from social media users. One penned: “Literally announced that you don’t exist today. Were you front row for that? I don’t understand how you can support an office that is trying to re-alienate you from society? “
A second added: “What a weird flex to proudly support a man who just said his Day 1 priority is to take your rights away. ” “He just publicly said you are not accepted. How do you feel about him now? ” asked a third. Meanwhile, a fourth typed: “I am not a monster I refuse to deadname you BUT how does it feel that the party you voted for, represent and rally for want to deadname you from now on? Please have some self respect and don’t do this to yourself. “
Meanwhile, Cait’s close friend and manager, Sophia Hutchins shared a string of snaps with the A-list reality and sports star as they attended one of Trump’s balls shortly after he was handed the keys to the White House. In the snaps, Cait looked sensational as she slipped into a black dress with a smart blazer for the occasion, while a video showed Trump and Melania dancing with the First Family.

“Inauguration 2025! Starlight Ball. A New Golden Age is upon us,” she captioned her upload. However, Sophia, who also identifies as a trans woman decided to turn the comment section of her post off. In 2015, Caitlyn came out as a trans woman during an interview with Diane Sawyer, explaining that she had battled with gender dysphoria since her youth. She unveiled her identity as Caitlyn Marie Jenner in July 2015. Just two years later, she underwent cosmetic surgery and completed sex reassignment surgery.
During his inaugural address, Trump, a close friend of Jenner said that he will “end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. ” He stated: “We will forge a society that is colour blind and merit-based. As of today, it will henceforth be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female. “
The government will use the term sex, rather than gender when dealing with official documents such as passports and visa, based on “an individual’s immutable biological classification as either male or female. ” According to the president, the use of the terms male and female would be “unchangeable. “
