Bruce Willis’ wife Emma Hemming-Willis has honoured their wedding anniversary with a sweet Instagram post. The 46-year-old shared a throwback photo of herself and the Die Hard actor, who turned 70 a few days ago.
She also posted a caption that makes a subtle mention of the star’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia along with the photo, which shows the couple sucked into a sweet embrace. She declared, “Today we have the love of our lives.” Through it all, we’ve created something timeless, with both incredible highs and heart wrenching lows.
I’m so incredibly grateful for each chapter we’ve spent writing, in our shared language of unconditional love, with him.

Tallulah, 31, wrote, “321.” in reference to their wedding day of March 21. I adore you all so much. “Love you Emma, you are magic 321 and papa he loves you so much,” said Rumor, 36.

Emma tied the knot with Bruce in 2009, and dedicated herself to being his primary carer since he was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2023.
Bruce stopped acting a year after being diagnosed with aphasia, a cognitive disorder that impairs a person’s ability to speak, comprehend, read, and write. Unfortunately, those who are close to the legendary action hero have sadly stated that he is now “non-verbal” and that “the joie de vivre is gone.”

Emma revealed that her husband’s language had changed in an interview with Town & Country in October 2024. Emma initially assumed the actor’s sudden speech changes had something to do with his having a childhood stutter.
It appeared to be just Bruce as his language started to change, and it seemed like it was just a part of a stutter. She said, “I’ve never thought it would be dementia for someone so young,” “but never in a million years.”

Emma continued, “I say that FTD whispers, it doesn’t shout,” adding that she wasn’t sure whether Bruce was aware of his condition or not. It’s difficult for me to say, “This is where Bruce ended, and this is where his disease started to take over.”
According to the NHS, FTD symptoms include changing behavior and personality, speaking slowly, making incorrect sounds when speaking a word, using words incorrectly, or speaking slowly.
