British four-man bobsleigh team third in St Moritz
In a thrilling World Cup four-man bobsleigh race in St Moritz, Germany came out on top with Great Britain.
Pilot Brad Hall, alongside GB team-mates Taylor Lawrence, Leon Greenwood and Greg Cackett, posted the joint fastest time in the first of two runs on the famous Swiss course as they went for back-to-back World Cup golds.
The top four were separated by just one hundredth of a second going into the third run, but World Cup leader Francesco Friedrich came out on top by winning by 0.23 seconds.
After the opening run, the German broke the record to finish in a time of two minutes, nine seconds, third.
Compatriot Johannes Lochner claimed silver, while Hall was 0.3 seconds off the pace and Switzerland’s Michael Vogt was fourth, a further one hundredth back.
Hall remains second in the four-man World Cup standings, 51 points behind reigning champion Friedrich after three of the season’s eight races.
