Brighton have signed 19-year-old forward Stefanos Tzimas from Nuremberg for £20.8m (25m euros).
The Under-21 international from Greece has agreed to stay in Germany with Nuremberg until June 2030.
“Stefanos is an exceptional young talent, an out-and-out centre-forward with a natural ability to score goals”, said Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.
“He will join up with us in the summer, ahead of next season”.
Tzimas signed for Nuremberg on loan from PAOK in the summer, with a purchase option.
Nuremberg made that choice prior to moving to Brighton.
After signing from Major League Soccer side Inter Miami and signing defender Eiran Cashin from Championship side Derby for a fee of $ 9 million, Tzimas is Brighton’s third signing of the winter.
Brighton are 10th in the Premier League with 34 points from 24 matches.
