Breaking: Technical issue forces US-Bound flight to make emergency landing in Lagos, passengers injured
A Boeing 787-8 from United Airlines, flying from Lagos to Washington Dulles, declared an emergency and then returned on Thursday.
The crew of the aircraft continued communication with air traffic control until the landing safely after reversing course.

As a result of the incident, some passengers on board reportedly sustained injuries.
Due to the shaky nature of the flight, videos and photos of the distressed passengers in the aircraft show scattered food and luggage.
Only the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau can identify the true causes of the incident, but it is not known as of the time to file this report.
According to the official accounts, passengers on the United Airlines flight are speculating that an engine-related issue caused the emergency return to Lagos.
Contacted for his comment, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Mr. Micheal Achimugu, confirmed the incident.
According to him, the regulatory act requires that the depressed passengers be entrusted to a hotel.
