BREAKING: Senate Approves Emergency Rule In Rivers, Calls For Mediation
The Senate invoked its constitutional authority under the amended 1999 Constitution by approving President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
President Tinubu is empowered to take immediate action while mandating a six-month review of the situation at any time under the approval of the approval.
In accordance with the Constitution, the National Assembly established a joint committee consisting of both chambers to manage Rivers State’s affairs during the crisis.
Additionally, the Senate has made the decision to set up a top-notch Nigerian mediation panel to assist in the state’s political crisis.
